The relationships between people and nations are not only regarding the political and commercial interests, but also the cultural and artistic issues are playing a very important role in making people to accept each other and to fill the gaps between them. Our projects and programs at Mediterranean for Developing Arts are always supporting the empowerment and improvement of institutions, communities, and activists and to connect them with the cultural and artistic areas. This work can be manifested through the existing of a special body of experienced people in counseling, financial and executive managing, and the units of empowerment, development, communication and media.  The work expenses will be covered through the payments and salaries which our crew will receive from the required projects that our institution has to conduct in different countries and regions. Our institution manages the activities concerning with the cultural and artistic projects ( Organizing film, theatre, cultural or artistic festivals, in addition to organizing the projects which aim at empowering amateur people in the fields of culture, art, and media). Our Partnerships: • Jordan Ministry of Culture through Irbid Art Theatre Troupe (one of the first troupes in Jordan, established in 1986). • C:NTACT (Danish Theatre Organization).
Mission and Objectives

Mission:
• Developing arts and cultures.
• Helping people to accept each other and to fill the gaps between them.
Our Goals:
• Empowering and supporting institutions and activists in the areas of art and culture.
• Defining the concepts of art and culture as means to defend human rights and to solve the social problems.
• Gathering the activists in art and culture under one umbrella to make them exchange their experiences in the field.
• Providing administrative, consultative, and training services to the people who are interested in the fields of art and culture.

Main Projects / Activities

Previous projects and activities:
1- Providing the project of Youth Theatre in Jordan with administrative, consultative and artistic services.
2- Managing “Bayt Najm Aldeen”, which is the first old house which became an artistic house, Irbid, North of Jordan.
3- Providing Administrative and consultative services for Irbid Art Theatre Troupe, (one of the oldest Jordanian Troupes which follows to the Ministry of Culture).

1-  Media for development.
2- Training program for managing and organizing the artistic and cultural projects.
3- Arts and culture activists network.

Al-Thorioa center has 8 employees full time, the averagge budget of the center in a year is 250000 JD, Thoria works with all instituions weither national, international and government, our souce of funding are ( USAID, EU, freedom house. British Embassy, British Council, NDI, Fhi360, ILO) 

Mission and Objectives

Mission: To contribute to development and modernization of research, training and advisory system, through empowering individual, institution and building their skills and capacities. Conducting scientific studies necessary to anchorage community partnerships with all national institutions to improve scientific research to be linked to training and investment in social, economic and political capital of Jordan. Vision: To create a research, training, and an integrated and comprehensive advisory system making use all official, national and private sector institutions participation. Capable of empowering individuals and institutions to contribute to the process of modernization, development and comprehensive reform.

• Studies and scientific research related to issues of sustainable development at social, economic, political, environmental dimensions. In addition to conducting studies at the request of ministries and public institutions at local, Arab and international levels. • Conducting capacity building programs targeting institutional and human capacities of governmental and national institutions. • Providing management, economic, social, educational and scientific consultations to institutions and individuals. • Organizing roundtables, dialogues, conferences and workshops on issues related to sustainable development, urban development and democracy.

General Information
Senni Jyrkiäinen holds a Master's Degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Helsinki, Finland. She is a PhD candidate focusing on the urban youth in post-Arab Spring Egypt. Her work covers gender, Islam, social media, urban space and youth. She has conducted fieldwork in Upper and Lower Egypt since 2008. Beside her activities as a researcher, Jyrkiäinen is engaged in the educational field. She works mostly with immigrants and teaches courses on career and education planning in Finland. She has written educational material for immigrants and about immigration. As a conservatoire-trained singer she enjoys performing music and organising cultural events. In her free time, she likes to read world literature or immerse herself in creative activities.
Mission and Objectives

Senni Jyrkiäinen got to know Anna Lindh Foundation while she was working for her PhD in Alexandria, Egypt. She cooperated with the local employees of the ALF Network when she was working as a visiting fellow of the Finnish Institute in the Middle East at the New Library of Alexandria. Her mission is to continue doing projects with Anna Lindh Foundation. 

Main Projects / Activities

Senni Jyrkiäinen has previous experience from many fields of activity that are related to the ALF Network. For example, in 2008 Jyrkiäinen worked as an intern for the Italian NGO Movimento per l'Autosviluppo, l'Interscambio e la Solidarieta in Upper Egypt in the field of women's empowerment in rural Upper Egypt. Currently, she concentrates on her PhD that is about the youth in Egypt.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Senni Jyrkiäinen is interested in contributing in strenghtening cultural relations between Finland and the Middle East. She is able to organise seminars and events, attend in meetings and share her knowledge about intercultural understanding. Moreover, she is very motivated to learn herself from other members of the network.

The Radviliskis Center of Culture  organizes up to 100 events of culture, arts and etc. in the Northern region of Lithuania every year.  Professional team of specialists work hard to represent the best of European, Lithuanian culture and arts for different local population groups, including social and national minorities groups in Northern Lithuania.
If we could become a part of the Network, our team would make everything what could be done to improve mutual respect between cultures and to support civil society in the Northern Lithuania.

1. Socio-economic Empowerment of persons with disabilities Program

The program aims at promoting the available opportunities to persons with disabilities in order to improve their socio-economic circumstances, build their economic administrative capacities and skills to contribute  in facing unemployment and poverty with focus on persons with disabilities in the Palestinian Society.
In addition to providing different social support services, awareness, advocacy and supporting education quality reconsidering the transparency and opportunity equivalent principle.  2. Media of Citizen Program
This Program aims at developing the media role in supporting the developmental process and expressing the social groups issues effectively in line with the enormous development in the world of media and communication as well as improving the means of dialogue, communication, and cultural exchange on both levels locally and internationally.3. Civil Empowerment Program
The program aims at enhancing youth and women participation and raising awareness about their rights and letting them participate in decision making, as well as supporting the national identity, civil rights and the use of various communication tools to create positive dialogue between community members and knowledge exchange in the issues that tackle their interests, and needs.

In the frame work of SDF, SDF can contribute to the network in Gaza Strip by its experience, and  intervention in the field of citizen media, socio-economic empowerment to youth and women especially persons with disabilities.
