General Information
Echis is an association using radio as a tool to promote information and communication access for marginalized communities. At the moment, Echis team is made up of 4 elements with specific skills in audio production, training, project management, research and administration. Echis works mainly through the organization of workshops, raise-awareness initiatives and events. As an audio productions home, Echis creates audio-documentaries for Italian RAI, Swiss RSI and for a network of Italian community radios. For the first year of activity the aim is to reach a 30.000 euro in budgetary resources with a consistent growth in the following years. The main sources of founding are Italian or international foundations such as Alta Mane, OPM Valdese, Fondazione Attività Scalabriniane, PME. In 2017 Echis won the first prize of the Migration Media Award and the fist prize of Premio Sganga for journalistic projects.
Mission and Objectives

Born from the union of community radio journalists, Echis promotes projects with the aim of facilitating rights access, opposing and preventing discrimination and stigma, promoting diversity. The association works for an active participation of people and communities in the civil society.
Echis wants to collect and tell stories, follow the memory's paths to take back our present, lift carpets to discover the realities hidden underneath, and then give back to listeners the words of the people we met and our investigations' results.

Main Projects / Activities

With the aim of empowering communities, Echis organizes trainings and workshops that provide media and story-telling skills and let participants explore their own narrative potential through non-formal education techniques. Our workshops are a way to let people tell their own stories and points of view on reality. From radio writing to audio editing skills; from live broadcasting to audio-reportage productions, from sound techniques to the management and organization of a radio station (web or fm) our workshops aim at making the participants active actors of communication and information.
Echis also produces audio-documentaries, radio programmes and journalistic reportages .
We work with several associations and realities collaborating in projects dealing with migration and/or rights awareness (MEDU, Laboratorio 53, Servizio Civile Internazionale, Casa Scalabrini 634, Radio Ghetto); Disabilities (Asperger pride; Gruppo Asperger Lazio) Education and School (Altra Mente; Archivio Memorie Migranti); Media (AMISnet; Quotidiano Sostenibile; Confronti).

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Echis is a newborn association, with already a lot of successful projects behind it, realized thanks to our partners and donors.
Echis can contribute to this network with its strong experience in media and specifically the radio sector.
Our members have been working in this field for years, producing audio-documentaries, journalistic reportages and radio programmes.
As individual members, our team can count on a diverse ensemble of experiences realized both in Italy and abroad, ranging from radio trainings and workshops, research in migration issues, audio productions and reportages on crucial social issues and sound-designing experimentations.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Becoming members of ALF Italy could be a great opportunity for Echis to share good practices and work with other partners. We consider essential to build international networks and long-lasting relationships that could allow us to learn from other methodologies and ideas, expanding our activity range.
Our aim is also to develope concrete projects in areas of common interest such as the active participation of people and communities in the civil society and the production of information content about issues often overlooked by mainstream media.
Moreover, as former members of AMISnet, the majority of ECHIS team has already worked in projects (Across the sea ; Through desert and sea; Bridges on Air) realized within the network and thanks to the collaboration of Anna Lindh Foundation. That is why we would like to start this fruitful cooperation again.

Modalities of action: we have three main classes of projects: a) courses and trainings; b) workshops and on-the-ground interventons and c) conferences and round-tables Main partners involved: we have a wide number of volunteers and colleages with whom we constantly cooperate. we also are committed to conducting programs in partnership with other organizations.

Mission and Objectives

Challenge promotes creative thinking and action to deal with the conflicts and tensions in the Israeli society in a non-violent manner. Challenge's goals are: • To promote a more egalitarian and tolerant Israeli society; • To reduce the levels of violence in the Israeli society by enhancing Israeli citizens' capabilities; • To raise awareness to the developments in the field of conflict transformation. According to our approach, a conflict is a situation of colliding strategies. Conflicts might be the source of enriching energies or create unnecessary suffering. We have at our disposal methodological tools that allow us to deal with every conflict in a creative way. Not in order to cancel different voices or subsume persons or groups, but on the contrary to create a rich harmony instead of the violent cacophony that exists today in our society. A harmony in which everyone's unique identity can reach full expression. By transforming Israel’s internal and external conflicts we will contribute to the creation of a society that is inclusive towards all its members. A society sustainably integrated in its international environment. As a civilian NGO Challenge behaves in a substantive impartial way and aims to become a model for the whole Israeli society

Main Projects / Activities

We conduct trainings in different methodological tools for conflict transformation. We employ those tools ourselves also through workshops and long-term interventions with different target-groups. We organize conferences and events to promote a richer public debate sheding light into the complexities and opportuinites in  reality.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

by employing the Conflict Transformation approach and tools we can contribute to the manner in which different target-groups (and society in general) understand conflicts and be better prepared to engage with them in a more creative and less violent manner.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We are committed to cooperate with as many organizations and networks as possible, in order to create bigger synergy and impact that we could create on our own.

The inventive study programme was conceived on the grounds of an analysis of certain trends in social issues and current needs on the part of employers. It responds to a calling from humanitarian organisations for special and systematic preparation of humanitarian workers and the needs of institutions providing assistance to minority groups, migrants and immigrants.
Graduates are prepared for work in various types of organisations and institutions providing assistance to immigrants and minorities in the Czech Republic as well as abroad within the frame of humanitarian assistance. They are equipped with both theoretical as well as practical knowledge and skills, including stress management, necessary for the performance of these demanding professions.

The students then pass on their knowledge and experience gained during the internships by means of public presentations which help to raise awarness of problems in other countries among general public.

Our students have been very involved in the crises of the last few years - whether it be during the covid pandemic or in helping people from Ukraine who have fled to the Czech Republic to escape the war. Students are also often involved outside of school in support of migrants, foreigners or minorities. The underlying objective of all of these activities is the peaceful coexistence and respect between cultures.

The contribution of CARITAS to the Network in the Czech Republic can be seen in offering a new dimension of intercultural dialogue based on its specialization of Humanitarian and Social Work. The College can also provide premises and experts from the field of development and human rights for initiatives, trainings and similar events organised by ALF. CARITAS can be the source of information for other NGOs in the Network, it can offer attractive premises right in the center of Olomouc for trainings, workshops or meeting of ALF and its members, it can share the experience and capacities gained in international mobility projects etc

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

CARITAS – College of Social Work would like to be part of the Network which promotes the inter-cultural dialogue and mutual understanding of the Euro-Mediterranean Region and which bridges the gaps in mutual perceptions, as well as promotes diversity and coexistence since these are goals and values the College and the ALF Network share. It would also provide a unique opportunity to take part in projects, workshops and meetings with representatives of various institutions across Euro-Mediterranean Region which would expand the school’s horizons and positively effect not only its students, and staff but also the general public in Olomouc Region.
