Fields of Activity
  1. Arts
General Information
Our organization is formed by 4 founding members and employs 15 people (actors, musicians, educators, animators) as staff. As concrete projects, we realize educational programs in greek schools, theatrical plays in schools and theaters and adult seminars on the subject of art education, in partnership with various institutions. As main partners since our establishment, we could cite TEDxAUEB, Gnosis Network for Education and Psichogios Publications s.a.
Mission and Objectives

Logou Paignion consists of musicians, actors and actresses, educators and animators, with the aim of realizing educational programs in schools.
The educational programs are designed by Panayiotis Tsirides, who has years of experience in the fields of music education and children’s literature.
The backbone of all programs lies in interacting with arts through games and their main characteristic is the active participation of the students, who are divided in groups. Music, dancing, theater, literature and visual arts serve as tools in order to strongly motivate and help express every single child.
All the above contribute to the development of linguistic capacity, by which we don’t just mean the written or spoken word, but the whole mental and cultural package that society is supposed to provide to its youth, so that they are then able to become cultivated, creative citizens.

Main Projects / Activities

From Brahms to drums
For K1-K2 students
This music-pedagogical program resembles an interactive piano recital and addresses young children. Its purpose is for children to play and get the pleasure of listening to stories and to music, as well as improvising with percussion musical instruments. Through this procedure, children achieve to develop their linguistic skills, imagination and theatrical expression, as well as their ability to co-operate creatively with each other.
Peter and the wolf, trapped by a piano
For K1-K4 students
This is a different kind of fairy tale, which is based on the musical themes of Sergei Prokofiev's creation. It is an interactive theatrical play that merges educational and theatrical ingredients, aiming at introducing children to the world of music and at raising their awareness on environmental issues and on their own relationship with nature.
The legends of fire
For K3-K5 students
This program is about three myths that explain the way that man discovered fire. From Promytheus of greek mythology, to the brave swallow of Siberia and the kindhearted peacock of Indonesia, children get the chance to creatively listen to music and play drama games. In the end, the three legends get compared and we all discuss together their similarities and differences, as well as the points that impressed each one.
Goblins and Santa Claus
For K2-K5 students (Christmas-special educational program)
This fairy tale, which is based on the greek and german traditions of goblins and elves, gets literally and musically narrated through Ygor Mussorgsky's musical creation, “Pictures at an Exhibition”. At first, children match the musical themes with the fairy tale's structure and then they dramatize the story by following the musical narration. This program's purpose is for children to get the pleasure of listening to stories, of actively listening to music and of playing drama games. By the end of the program, each kid gets to create and keep his/her own special, handcrafted Christmas ornament.
Nikolaos Gyzis – Ludwig van Beethoven: An artistic encounter, motive for playing and creating
For K5-K7 students
Painting encounters music. Beethoven's piano sonatas encounter Gyzis' paintings. Students participate in this encounter by playing games divided into groups, and then they become themselves visual and musical creators, inspired by the musical and visual work of these two artists.
The literary and visual world of Odysseas Elytis
For K6-K9 students
In the beginning of this program students get in touch with Elytis' visual world, accompanied by the music of Manos Hadjidakis. Then, they form groups and play and improvise, discovering the power of lyrics in “Axion Esti” and other poetic collections of him. Instead of providing encyclopedic knowledge about Elytis' poetry, this program invites children to a game which leads them closer to literature and the joy of creation.
Alexandros Papadiamantis - “Christ at the Castle”: The miracle of being human
For K7-K10 students (This program is adjusted as appropriate, in accordance with students' age)
One of Papadiamantis' most famous narratives comes to life through a narration made by actors and becomes the motive for characters' analysis and drama games. Through this program, students not only get the pleasure of playing and of creating, but also get to know an important literary piece -which, on top of everything, is written in Papadiamantis' special language.
The characters and thoughts of Nikos Kazantzakis' literature
For K8 - K10 students
The main purpose of this program is for students to make contact with three of the most important novels of Nikos Kazantzakis: “Captain Michalis”, “Zorba the Greek” and “Report to Greco”. Through games and interactive activities, students get to know the main character of each novel and familiarize with the author's thoughts, resulting in the development of their linguistic and critical thinking skills.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
