Meeting Point Europe – . Cinematik comes with an unique and original concept of the main competition. Renowned young European film critics, representing countries of the EU vote for the best film made in 2007 and 2008. The voting takes place in two subsequent rounds. In the first one, young film critics make their own, personal „best of“ of European films made in 2007 and 2008. In the second round we shortlist the films which got most points and send them the shortlist back to be rated again. The second round gives us the final list of best films which will be screened within the competitive section. The winning film is awarded the main prize of the festival, the Meeting Point Europe Award. Last year it was a film Taxidermia by Pálfy György. Its main actor came to the award giving ceremony to collect the award in person.
