General Information
ProPositivo is a project born in 2009 on the initiative of a group of young people scattered throughout Italy and the world, students and workers, realists and dreamers. In 2015 ProPositivo became a Socio-Cultural Association with the aim of promoting resilience practice and building in local communities. Started as a blog aimed to promote good practices, since 2015 Propositivo created the "Resilience Festival" a chance for all good initiatives in the field of social innovation and arts to meet in Sardinia, creating a road of ideas that crosses the centre of the island, connecting coast to coast. The aim is to connect initiatives and ideas while actively researching and studing new practices aimed to rejuvenate the economy in the island. All members involved in the association are volunteers, the association is a non-profit association based on donationas and public fundings. Among the main partners: Accademia di Teatro Internazionale Dimitri, il Politecnico di Milano, La Stampa, Sardegna Teatro, Sardegna Film Commission, Fondazione di Sardegna.
Mission and Objectives

Through a methodological approach based on synergy between the world of science and art, the goal is to create a dynamic and multilingual environment, capable of linking logic and creativity, school and business, institutions and civil society, public and private, environment and urban planning. All fundamental ingredients to activate process of community problem solving and territorial rejuvenation aimed to:

increasing resilience and life skills of citizens, those "skills that help people to face the challenges of daily life positively and effectively";

foster socio-economic development and innovation processes based on sustainability, social responsibility and the happiness of human beings and communities;

creating cohesion and unlock resources through a participatory and transparent public planning.

Main Projects / Activities

ProPositivo has launched the project "Transforming crisis into opportunity", of which the Resilience Festival is a fundamental engine. Born to connect and spread good practices worldwide, in just four years the festival has grown from a 5 days event into a two-months program that connects the central area of the island from coast to coast with two main focuses: arts and social innovation.That is the common thread of every event, performance, workshop, artistic residence and project in the framework of the Resilience Festival.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

ProPositivo borned as a network propeller with the idea of creating a community worldwide. We actively operate to help initiatives and good practices to communicate and cooperate. Other than the Resilience Festival, we operate troughout the year as a newsroom to spread good practices. Every article tries to analyze a socio-economical problem offering different pespectives and solutions by communities that faced similar crisis around the world. Therefore, we would be happy to contribute to the network both giving visibility to good practice aimed at promoting resilience, and actively hosting and cooperating with social innovators and artists interested in experimenting art and science as an engine of innovation for local communities.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

As a member of RIDE APS, ProPositivo operates for the promotion of intercultural dialogue across Europe and the Mediterranean region. Sardinia, the italian region where ProPositivo has been based, is an island in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, we firmly believe in the value of streghtening the dialogue and the network with other countries and ideas as a way to learn from each other and creating a more inclusive and opened society.
