General Information

Tikitut community-based tourism is run by the non-profit organisation FLU (FÖRENINGEN FÖR LOKAL UTVECKLING ), association for local development, Organisation number: 802432-5618.

Tikitut community-based tourism aims to promote greater diversity and an inclusive society. Through Tikitut, local areas can be developed and the residents themselves have the opportunity to create Sweden's most unique, multifaceted social experience together with visitors. At the local meeting place Tikitut, experiences are prepared together, life experiences are shared and both visitors and locals get a unique experience.

We want to develop and offer sustainable experiences for individuals, organisations and companies. Tikitut is a unique complement to conventional tourist and visitor attractions!

When you book an experience and participate in Tikitut's activities, you take an active stand for an inclusive society with diversity, while your visit directly leads to income for residents and those involved in local community development.

Mission and Objectives

Vision

We want to be a player that contributes to an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable society. Our solid set of values is based on the four core words: glocal meeting place, include, personal and sustainability. These words influence our daily activities and symbolise everything we do and communicate.

We do it with personality and it shows in what we do; whether it is a post on social media, a seminar at a university or a guided tour with our youth guides. The personal touch is reflected in our experience products. Through personal meetings, the guest and the host meet each other at the glocal meeting place, Tikitut.

There are many different definitions of what sustainable tourism is. Some argue that it can only be a small-scale form of tourism, while others instead focus on an approach that can be applied in businesses that operate both small-scale and large-scale tourism, and that it is instead about the way a company operates a business.

What is interesting in this context is that sustainable tourism as a form can make a difference and contribute to positive social development, creating jobs, fighting poverty and developing the local inhabitants and the place they live in. Areas and inhabitants grow, hopelessness and poverty are replaced by confidence and entrepreneurship.

Sustainable tourism is used as an instrument worldwide to create development that is economically, environmentally and socially sustainable. In concrete terms, this can mean contributing to unspoilt nature, better health, cultural exchange and, of course, your satisfaction as a visitor.

Main Projects / Activities

Global meeting place:

Tikitut is a local meeting place that, with the help of locally produced sustainable experiences, creates meetings between the area's residents and visitors. The tourism industry is growing and is now one of the world's largest industries. Sweden's strategy for developing Sweden as a destination includes investing in sustainability. Through Tikitut, more areas can be developed. We, local residents and local actors have the opportunity to create one of Sweden's most inclusive social experiences together with visitors. A guest interested in nature is offered personal stories from glocal Tikitut guides. At the local meeting place Tikitut, life experiences are shared and both visitors and locals get a unique experience.

Sustainability:

Our approach is to contribute to sustainability in creative and innovative ways. We have an ambition to participate in the sustainable development of society through Tikitut and do so through the continuous development of internal processes. We convey social values and we do it very well. Through our tourism products, the visitor gets a social experience while benefiting the local community.

Inclusion:

In an open and curious way, Tikitut is the platform for a sustainable society. We strive to be an inclusive force that utilises the resources that a neighbourhood has to offer. We want to promote and highlight the diversity of our society as a valuable asset. Through our activities, we take social responsibility and also find other initiatives and companies that likewise take social responsibility for issues such as diversity in society. We change together and create social development through cooperation.

General Information
14km is a non-profit organisation registered in Berlin, Germany, in 2010. It consists of a board, a program manager and a circle of founding members who support it.
Mission and Objectives

It is our mission to help good ideas and equal partnerships between Europe and North Africa become reality – through both facilitating, developing and implementing non-profit and for-profit co-operations between the two regions that are socially just and sustainable. In doing so, we are working to bridge the cultural gap and overcome the socio-economic distance between the two regions. Our networking and project work is not restricted to North-South relationships but also includes triangle co-operations (North-South-South, North-North-South). We believe in people and their ideas, and our contacts are our greatest asset - our network based approach makes us unique. We support any good idea between North Africa and Europe that: 1. promotes socio-economic and/or political justice 2. is sustainable 3. corresponds with the needs and wishes of the target communities

Main Projects / Activities

We already provide services in the area of networking i.e. connecting interested individuals and organisations from Germany and North Africa with adequate partners on the 'other side'. We do so in personal meetings as well as via http://www.facebook.com/14Kilometer. Currently we are putting most of our efforts into fundraising for the many project ideas (non-profit and social entrepreneurship) that we have developed and are developing with 'initiators' who have approached us.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We provide contacts for individuals and organisations that are based in Germany to adequate partners (according to the idea/initiative in question) in North Africa, but also the other way round.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We are looking for partners from diverse fields in North Africa as well as Europe for project co-operations and networking.

NGO Montenegrin Alternative culture is consisted of president and assembly. NGO gathers members who are professionals in different fields, such as: art, culture, sociology, philosophy, journalism, philology, law, and marketing. Our budget still does not overcomes 10.000,00€. Funds that we received funds so far are from Montenegro and foreign embassies, but we applied for EU funds in international projects. Our actions are dynamic and concrete in order to create platform for establishment of new cultural patterns in Montenegrin society. We collaborated with many institutions and organizations such as the Center for Contemporary Art of Montenegro, French Institute, Japanese Embassy, etc.
Mission and Objectives

Montenegrin Alternative Culture (MAC) is a laboratory for the change of perspective.
MAC is a platform for establishing the new cultural patterns in Montenegrin collective consciousness. Withing the existing constellation of reality, those changes are not only given as the expression of youth revolt, but rather as our necessity. It is needed to introduce the inversion of stale patriarchal conformism that is to represent just the bases of the new, future consciousness.
MAC deconstructs the existing order by provocative interventions and by heretical experimenting with symbolical universe of Montenegro’s surrounding.
MAC’s activities basically refer to Montenegro’s region, but should also be understood as universal, but no way local/ national. MAC is a conductor of global changes in Montenegro.
MAC demises stupidity, primitivism, consumerism and other calamities of the ready-made world of fake relations.

Main Projects / Activities

NGO Montenegrin Alternative Culture organized many events that are recognized as innovative in Montenegro, such as first festival of Japanese Manga and Anime, but also those that have been considered controversial such as performance “Montenegrin funeral/exhibition” that questioned patriarchate basis of Montenegrin history. We were also co-organizers of project that affirmed LGBT issue in Montenegro called “I see the different”. We hosted lectors, movie projections, street art interventions and initiated public debates. We are also editors of the website www.nvucak.com that brings inspiring activism and art news, interviews and columns.

With our strong interconnection with the Youth network of CL Podkrepa and our almost 1000 volunteers, 700 of them aged between 15-29, we can strongly contribute to the spreading of the ideas and goals of ALF and guarantee commitment and involvment in the activities of the national network. Using our expertise in the fields of our experts ALF national network could have a strong benefit having us as members.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We have plenty of contacts and partnerships across Europe, but what we would like to explore is to create and develop sustainable relations with other parts of the world and especially the Mediterranian countries. With the latest developments there - the Arab spring, and the latest events in our country - the over -a month -long mass protests on the streets of almost all the cities, that lead to the fall of the Government, we are whitnessing the same processes arround the Mediterranian, despite the cultural, religious and political differences. We would like to explore the realities the youth of those countries are facing, to share experience, best pracices, to learn about the differences of our cultures and the more and more similarities we are having, driven by the globalisation processes. We would like to establish sustainable relations for cultural and educational exchanges, that both sides of the Mediterranean will benefit.
