General Information
The Turkish Education and Solidarity Foundation for Disabled Persons (OZEV) was established by the families of disabled persons on 19th of June 1994 in Turkey. Its main responsibility areas are to provide education, health, social rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities and their families. OZEV aims at finding solutions to basic problems of persons with disabilities by providing education, creating a social environment and ensuring their adaptation to social life. OZEV has adopted the following motto, which is “All persons with disabilities have the same rights as non-disabled people have in society.”
Mission and Objectives

OZEV has implemented those activities:
 To promote the human rights of persons with intellectual disabilities.
 To promote independent living for persons with disabilities by providing care, occupational and social rehabilitation.
 To arrange awareness raising activities
 To be involved in the projects at national, European, and international levels.
 To provide advisory services regarding opening special education schools, therapy centres, courses, relaxation centres, resource institutes, social activities, sports clubs, guest-houses, production centres, and workplaces for disabled persons.
 To train special education teachers by providing in service training programmes
 To establish guidance and rehabilitation units for the families of disabled persons
 To provide advisory services to the families of children with disabilities.
 To establish social institutions to provide the members and charter members unity with financial assistance.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

EU Funded Projects
- The project GENTI is about ensuring active and full integration of persons with
intellectual disabilities in the labour market in Turkey by applying a new innovative
model transferred by Italy.
- School for all: working together to improve the quality of inclusion of children
and young people with a disability project has been implemented to improve the
quality of life for disabled children and their families, and to promote a better social
cohesion and solidarity.
- International Knowledge Bridges project focuses on disseminating good practice to
discuss and deliver solution to the problems of persons with disabilities at the
European level.
International Organisations Funded
- The computer courses for the youngsters with disabilities has been carried out
within the framework of the World Bank Project. After 3 months of training, they
were certificated.
National Funded Projects
- The Disability Rights project focuses on promoting of the human rights of persons
with disabilities by conducting media campaign to ensure full participation of persons
with disabilities in community.
- Kecioren Disability Survey for he first time was conducted in 2004 in Kecioren
Municipality in Ankara in order to deliver effective services to persons with disabilities.
- Disabled and elderly care workers training project has been conducted. In the
wake of completing the training programme, the trainees numbered 600 have been
provided work placements.
- Workplace Adaptation project was conducted to change negative attitudes of
employers towards employees with disabilities by overcoming their widespread
prejudices against persons with disabilities.
- First Step for Couples Project has been carried out so as to provide counselling and
training course on sexual reproductive health for 20.000 prospective couples who have
applied for marriages in the municipalities.
- No Limits Project has been implemented in order to accelerate the civil society
dialogue in the field of disability.
- Social Consciousness Project has been conducted by arranging conferences in many
cities of Turkey with the rhetoric of ¡§The real handicap is ignorance¡¨ to promote
active and full participation of persons with disabilities in community. Within the
context of the project, the knowledge levels of families, disabled persons, experts from
civil society organisations and public institutions were increased about Turkish
Disability Act and Human Right Treaties.
- Short Story Competition is arranged every year to raise awareness on the problems
of the youngsters with disabilities. The selected stories have been awarded.

AVF is a federation of foundations serving to people in Turkey with 65 Cem houses (Alevi worship and cultural centers) in country.We employ around 15 as ful / part time staff, total number of employees of our members exceed 400 with around 150 clergy. Our sources of funding are membership fees,contributions of individuals and grants received from local/international organizations.Our budgetary resources are in the range of 150-200 000 euros p.a. We organize researches,commemorations, medium and major sized meetings, conferences, panels, workshops, exhibitions, tv- radio programmes.
Mission and Objectives

AVF aims to search, evaluate, introduce and create awareness about roots of ALEVI – Muslim cultural values ( known as Bektashi / Bedrettini / Haydari / Qizilbash etc.) and Sufi philosophy which are in harmony with today’s universal cultural value system. Introduce these values as an additive to our country and international communities’ cultural value system.

Oneof our current projects is : Networking Alevi Organizations. EU funded project with contract ref EIDHR/2011/280-365.
Printing and circulating 12 000 copies of monthly news bulletin TURNA (pls see attached brief)
Organizing researches and conferences, workshops.Latest item is RELIGIOUS FREEDOM in TURKEY.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We may provide information about very rich history and culture of ALevi community, we may host some cultural activities of other members in our Cem houses and ceremonies, we need to develop self standing ALEVI NGO's in Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Monte Negro, Bosnia, we may obtain help from existing networks in a/m countries and provide help to them in our country.

We have a grass root structure distributed to whole country.We may provide a good base to cultural actors who are members of the ALF network. We may organize joint festivals, researches, cultural activities etc.

General Information
Association of Ankara Seymen's Club is a non-profit organization established in 2007 to keep assets of Ankara culture, tradition and Seymen alive as well as developing them. On this occasion the association works focused on organizing activities to serve these purposes and extend the awareness on Ankara traditional folklore. The association has over 800 members (Seymens). The trainers of the association try to attract people to culture of Ankara province. The trainers are the volunteers, on this occasion training courses have given on Seymen Traditional Dance and musical instruments to learners are free of charge.
Mission and Objectives

The members of the association performs Seymen Traditional Dance formally at special days for Ankara as 13th October (proclaimintion of Ankara as the capital), 27th December (First Arrival of Ataturk to Ankara ,founder of Turkish Republic).
In order to realize the above mentioned aims, the association organizes training courses on dance and musical instruments and create Seymen Dance groups.

Main Projects / Activities

Association organizes "Ferfene Night" at least twice a year. Ferfene night is a kind of sira night and the participants will involve to the night by playing the music, dancing or listening. The dancers wear traditional Seymen clothes. Particularly, this year Ferfene nights is organized with the cooperation between Turkish Folk Music Band of State.

SAMED is a Palestinian non – profit organization registered by Palestinian ministry of interior under the number BL-3300-A. SAMED is consist of farmers who lost their lands because of construction of the separation wall. 80 farmers are members of the organization and they all lost large part of their land because of the wall. SAMED is located in Al khass village in Bethlehem East Rural working to encourage farmers affected from the apartheid wall and settlements to steadfast and resist in their lands.

Al-Karma is a Palestinian non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2004 under registration number Bl-466-CU at Al-khass village in Eastern Rural of Bethlehem, Palestine the birthplace of Jesus, located 10 Km to the south of Jerusalem.
Al-Karma was created to establish a bridge and platform for Women and Youth in the rural area of Bethlehem. It emerged as a result of an active youth group in East Rural of Bethlehem who decided to help their marginalized area and people. Majority of youth and Women in Bethlehem lives in the rural area of Bethlehem from here Al-Karma was established to serve as a cultural and Educational platform.
Our Aim:
1) Increase Youth and Women active participation
2) Reaching to the marginalized and neglected groups in the community
Our Objectives:
1) Create participatory techniques which allow to support and strengthen the local community and invest in their strength and resources to overcome the surrounding conditions
2) Provide the community with activities that allow them to understand and show cultural aspects related to identity and heritage
3) To reach to understanding and respect to other cultures and religions
4) Reaching to the maximum number of youth, children and women in rural communities
5) Developing the capacities and skills of youth, children and women
6) Encourage intercultural and inter-religious exchanges in the community
