General Information

I am reaching out to partner with your organization in view of our shared values and audience. The podcast series "Between the East and the West" was started in view of the need for one platform of open dialogue in view of fluidity of borders , rapid digitalization and increasing awareness of diversity. However cultural intelligence, global citizenship, etc. are topics which are in exploratory phase by many in the world. In my view, there can be no peace without awareness and understanding of cultures (of nations, communities and individuals). Till now the series has been funded privately by me and I am now reaching out to explore modes of funding to continue this global dialogue with guests whom we judiciously select from different parts of the globe.

Mission and Objectives

As mentioned above, this is a global podcast series which showcases the journeys of people who have straddled continents in their work and relationships. Who have taken the road less travelled and gathered enough moss to share some. Storytelling is a powerful and inspiring medium. The podcast brings true stories from people themselves who are global leaders in their fields or Ambassadors or have chartered their own unique paths and know themselves as human beings beyond labels and roles. While showing oneness in the world, the series brings out the mosaic of diversity and its interconnectedness.

Main Projects / Activities

1. Podcast series -https://www.betweentheeastandthewest.com/ 2. Other projects-https://vedasshaakha.com/

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Increase the depth and coverage of global cultural dialogue on the topics mentioned above.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We see synergy in the topics covered as well as the possibility of funding to keep the dialogue rolling.

General Information

A non-profit cultural association created in 1996 by a group of people with the same ambition: to give visibility to the richness of the Portuguese language spread throughout the world. Today, while maintaining the same ambition, we don't limit ourselves only to the Portuguese language, but also to the various influences that Portugal has suffered over the centuries, which in our time can be felt through migratory processes and the various communities living specifically in Lisbon. We're a small institution with a working group of six people, funded by the Lisbon City Council, the Ministry of Culture and, occasionally, by project, we have various funders and partners. We have several projects that take place every year, which we present in the annex, and we have other occasional activities such as co-organising the "We Insist!" seminar in partnership with the European Jazz Network. Or the creation of a series of documentaries addressing various themes such as creativity, innovation, diversity, crossroads arising from emigration and travelling the world in counterpoint with information societies and new technologies, for a private Tv channel.

Mission and Objectives

The ASL's mission includes research in the field of music and expressive behaviour; the strengthening of Lusophony among Portuguese-speaking peoples; the creation and development of artistic groups; the production and dissemination of artistic works; pedagogy and training; the promotion of cultural events; and the promotion of networks and itinerancy between artists, researchers, trainers and other cultural agents from different backgrounds. Since its foundation, one of ASL's main objectives has been to contribute to co-operation between geo-culturally diverse countries, promoting the development of an identity based on traditions, common or not, oriented towards the future - creating a platform for communication between generations and groups with different habits and cultural heritages.

Main Projects / Activities

Currently, the most visible aspect of the Association is the annual conception and organisation of the following events: Festa do Jazz - Jazz Festival OPA (Portable Arts Workshop) JazzOPA Lisboa Mistura D'Improviso

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

The association believes that it is through common endeavour that the best results are achieved. It is part of our DNA to create networks, whether formal or informal, in order to realise its objectives, such as the impetus given to the creation of Portugal Jazz - a national network of musicians, producers and other structures linked to jazz. As in all networks or partnerships in which we are involved, we seek to contribute with our greatest effort to obtain results, local, national or international impact, dissemination of good practices that result from this joint work. Joining the Anna Lindh Foundation would be an opportunity to expand and integrate other realities and partnerships into our activities, and always with a view to create new projects.

RJ4All Europe is a non-profit NGO with vision of a world that embraces the restorative justice values of power sharing, fairness, equality, dignity and respect, and where power abuse is rooted out. We pursue our vision by using the power of dialogue, education, sports and art, as well as the practices of restorative justice. RJ4All Europe has a mission to address poverty and advance equality, community cohesion and human rights. We pursue our mission by delivering social justice and poverty relief projects, free skills-development and educational programmes, youth clubs, intercultural and awareness raising workshops, internships and high-quality volunteering opportunities.

More details on the team: https://www.rj4all.eu/team/

Our main sources of income are Erasmus+ funding projects, CERV, Horizon etc.

RJ4All Europe was founded by Dr. Theo Gavrielides, one of the world’s leading experts on restorative justice. The NGO was founded upon his maximalist vision of restorative justice as a global social movement that brings balance to the scales of justice, and community voice. RJ4All Europe is the child of the Restorative Justice for All International Institute. Also founded by Dr. Gavrielides, the institute is now recognised one of the world’s leading authorities in the delivery, evaluation, research and scrutiny of restorative justice. Based in London, the institute has been working for over a decade with harmed and harming parties, communities and governments to provide effective interventions and an alternative narrative to justice.
RJ4All Europe draws from our Institute large portfolio of numerous successful projects https://www.rj4all.info/projects that were carried out for the EU, UK funders and international organisations. This includes independent evaluations of rehabilitation and restorative justice programmes, awareness raising and training projects, work on radicalisation as well as research consultancies and expert advice to governments and international organisations.

Mission and Objectives

RJ4All Europe is a non-profit NGO with vision of a world where power abuse is rooted out, and embraces the restorative justice values of power sharing, fairness, equality, dignity and respect . We pursue our vision by using the power of dialogue, education, sports and art, as well as the practices of restorative justice .

Main Projects / Activities

We believe that we can build a better world by working locally, nationally and internationally through the redistribution of power. We do this by using the values and practices of restorative justice including: power sharing, fairness, equality, dignity and respect. The means that we use are structured through educational, poverty relief and social action programmes, and focus on achieving social justice for all. Moreover, we deliver restorative justice interventions and evaluations and support both harmed and harming parties. We have expertise in complex cases such as hate incidents, sexual abuse and gender-based violence, youth violence and violent radicalisation. RJ4All Europe also has three additional arms: RJ4All Publications (publishing arm), RJ4All Sports (fitness arm) and RJ4All ecourses (training arm).

Our newly arrived funding project by Erasmus + is called Restorative Justice for Restorative Communities and you can find more information in the link below: https://www.rj4all.eu/rjrc/

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Given the long history of our sister organisation in the UK, restorative justice-based practices mean that we do not work alone. By design, all our projects are carried out in partnership with others who share our values. Founded upon the FREDA values of Fairness, Respect, Equality, Dignity and Autonomy, RJ4All Europe creates partnerships with like minded organisations to instil and implement FREDA, while also leading on the evaluation and wider dissemination of project results.
Also, we wish to share with this big network our Certified e-courses & trainings, workshops and trainings within restorative justice circles and Restorative justice interventions. All the more important, though, RJ4All is a research institute with a leading role in affecting policy-making through ground-breaking research. Having said that, we are going to offer a wealth of publications, research papers and evalautions.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We strongly believe in partnerships and we wish to offer space for networking, exchange of good practices and institutional development.
