Our main projects are: "Learn the Traditions - Pass Them On", dealing with folklore as a means of communication with young people from different ethnographic regions in Bulgaria and "Chance in a Time of Crisis", which focuses on the problems of youth employment during the financial crisis.

VBA has been involved in 41 regional and international projects as a Lead organization and partner funded under PHARE 2002,2003,2004,2005, USAID, Open Society, LEONARDO DA VINCI, the Bulgarian HR Development Operational program funded by the Structural funds and other funding sources mainly related to entrepreneurship’s initiatives and cluster's initiatives. VBA is a lead organization in Varna Tourist Cluster Project under PHARE Programme. The last interregional project that has been closed is "Arts in tourism", a PHARE Cross-Border cooperation project (RO 2005/017-535.01.01.19) with special attention on innovative entrepreneurship

The Foundation's activities are: organizing and conducting studies, work meetings, seminars and conferences; organising different training initiatives; collecting and disseminating information, related to activities carried out by Bulgarian and foreign donors and programmes, as well as activities in the field of regional development, culture, education, ecology and trade associations; providing legal, financial and organisational consultancy; building up and developing partnership with universities and research centers; publishing and distributing print and electronic material, related to the Foundation's activities;forming expert opinions; organizing discussions and providing proposals for changes in the normative order; organizing studies and conducting research projects; providing technical aid; publishing activities; providing consultancy services; preparing analyses; creating and distributing electronic products; exercising rights upon intellectual property.

Dimitrovgrad Public Library named after Penyo Penev is the largest contemporary informational, educational and cultural center in the municipality.
The main activities of the library are as follows:
- Assembling, processing, organizing and storing library assets – books, periodicals, graphical editions, musical notations editions, audio recordings in Bulgarian and foreign languages;
- Circulation of paper and non-paper information sources for satisfying the needs of the readers;
- Bibliographical and information services;
- Research, storing and provision of information about the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad. Archive of the local newspapers;
- Automation of librarian activities – an automated librarian system with 9 computers is in place.

Greener Bourgas Foundation participates in an international consortium together with organizations from Lithuania, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and Belgium. “The innovative practices for capacity building of civil society organizations” Project /2008/. The project is funded under the OP Administrative capacity. GBF is partner of the Union of Bulgarian Black sea Local authorities. In the framework of the project is organized training for CSO representatives through Internet based platform. Its aim is NGOs capacity building mainly in the regions of Varna, Burgas and Dobrich.

This is a pilot project for Bulgaria and is implemented by the Greener Bourgas Foundation with the support of the Municipality of Burgas. It aims at transferring the Dutch experience in the field of sustainable building including sustainable technologies and materials.

A JOINT PROGRAM FOR PREVENTION, REDUCTION AND CONTROL OF NUTRIENT POLLUTION FROM AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES/ October 2002 - October 2003/09/2002 - 06/2003 "Establishment of Partnership for Introduction of Sustainable Agricultural Practices in the Black Sea region" financed by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe - Bulgaria. The project aims to establish multi-stakeholders partnership on local and regional level for introduction of sustainable agricultural practices.01/2002 "Strengthening Municipalities and Regional Capacity Project - Bulgaria", financed by the British Know-How Fund.
04/2001 - 12/2001"Partners for water protection and sustainable utilization ". Financed by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe. DEVELOPMENT OF A HAZARDOUS MEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON THE TERRIRORY OF MUNICIPALITY OF BOURGAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EU STANDARDSThe main goal of this project is the implementation of an effective and active system for integrated management of the specific hazardous waste from humanitarian and veterinarian medicine on the territory of Bourgas Municipality, eliminated risks for environment and human health , in connection with the implementation of the health reform in Bulgaria and the performance of the requirements of existing local normative organization and the EU legislation standards.The Greener Bourgas Foundation organized the NATO Advanced Study Institute on "Risk Assessment Activities for the Cold War Facilities and Environmental Legacies". More than 70 participants from all over the world were trained.
2000 - 2001 "Clean beaches, a first commitment for a sustainable tourism in Romanian and Bulgarian Black Sea Coastal Areas "-under the Cooperative Environmental Project Grants of the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe.
2000-2001"Implementation of a new equipment for the waste treatment"-financed by the Dutch Environmental Ministry. The Greener Bourgas Foundation is the local partner and consultant for this project. 2000 -2001 "Co-generation and energy efficiency program for Toplofikatcia Bourgas"-financed by the Ecolinks Program of USAID.
"Urban indicators for sustainable development" within the framework of program "Global Urban Network" by the United Nations Commission on Human Settlements. The Foundation Greener Bourgas select, process and analyze the statistic information concerning the social, economic and environmental situation in Municipality of Bourgas.Extraction and Utilisation of Biogas at Bratovo landfill financed by the Ecolinks Program USAID, 1999-2001 Bulgarian-Dutch Environmental Project Greeer Bourgas - common environmental action program of the government and the Industry of the region of Bourgas, 1997-1999;
1999-2001 Bulgarian-Dutch Project Development of Waste Management Strategy for Port of Bourgas. The partners are: Ministry of Transport, Port of Bourgas, Municipality of Bourgas, IWACO -Rotterdam, DCMR-Rotterdam, Haskoning, ATM. The Foundation acted as a local consultant and coordinator of this project.
Within the framework of Project the Foundation organized an international seminar for Waste Management in Black Sea Ports.
