"EuroMed Citizen Visions" is a short live show offering a wide range of insights into civil society initiatives in Europe and the Mediterranean region. „Citizen Reporters" from Libya, Egypt, Italy and Lebanon will present local activities and initiatives that convey hope, solidarity and visions of an active, diverse and agile international civil society. The "Long Night of Ideas 2021" is also the launch of the publication of a large number of civil society initiatives on the website.
This "best-of-show" of civil society initiatives in the Euro-Mediterranean region reflects how new creative forms of intercultural dialogue, active citizenship and social participation are initiated and shaped at the grassroots and local level – despite partially closed physical borders and limited opportunities for movement and encounter on the ground.

In April 2022, we were extremely pleased to have worked with the Adyan Foundation who kindly distributed our ‘Colouring Book for Kids – World Religions’ to 4 partner schools across Lebanon - one of the most multi faith countries in the world. Thanks to the wonderful children and teachers at Besancon Beirut, SSCC Baalbek, Besancon Baabda and Besancon Baabdat. We look forward to our continued partnership.
We were pleased to note that students at our UNITY programme partner - Sabel School, organised a collection to generate funds to tackle racism and hate as part of the International Week Against Racism.
In February 2022, to mark UN World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW), we ran a series of webinars in partnership with URI Europe as part of WIHW. These are available to view on our website. Also as part of the week, our Secretary General—Riaz Ravat wrote an article which focused on the spirit of interfaith at Liverpool FC. He highlighted four of their key players and their impact not only upon UK society but also much further afield. Thanks to Empire of the Kop for publishing this account.
In January 2022, Baraza was proud to have contributed to a major international report ‘Youth Engagement with Religion & Faith in the 21st Century’ led by Religions for Peace.

Our Mission is to contribute to the Bochum Area as a place of academic excellence and as a part of the global village by delivering student services at its best in the field of accomodation, finance, culture and internationalisation. The services in the field of internationalisation aim to enable our students, coming from abroad, to include their culture into an international campus culture, and to enable our German students to meet with the world, enabling them to become global citizens. The cooperation with the Student Services in Tunisia persues a vivid participation of Tunesiaon culture as part of our campus culture, enabling our personnel to get a better understanding of Tunisian culture, but also to create meeting opportunities with our "german" culture" for the tunesian Student Services and tunsian students.
In 2009 a first Excursion of the AKAFÖ to the Student Services North, Mid and South in Tunesia took place. In May 2011 a visit of a tunesian delegation followed. In September 2011 a delegation of the AKAFÖ and the Student Union (AStA) of the Ruhr-University Bochum visited the Student Services in Tunesia and several institutions of higher education, accompanied by tunesian students. Several seminars and workshops with the main topic of student participation at management of Student Services and institutions of higher education took place. As an outcome of this visit, a "association des étudiants Tunesien" was founded. In 2012 a visit of this association to Bochum is planned.
by bringing in our projects into the actions of the national network, s. answer above.
We are convinced, that the Anna Lindh Foundation offers us the perfect network for further projects in this field, bringing in our projects of cultural and political participation of tunesian students into a larger field of actors, working on a dialog between european and mediterranean cultures.

Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste e.V. (ASF) is a European level non-governmental volunteer organisation with approx. 50 (full- and part-time) employees, 830 members and branches in several European countries. ASF was founded in 1958 by Christians seeking to confront the era of National Socialism in German history. Since then more than thousand of young volunteers have been involved in our work towards international and intercultural reconciliation. The yearly costs of our work amount to about 3,8 Mio. Euro. We finance our work mostly with donations, church collections and members fees, but also with church and public funds, EU subsidies, grants from fundations and other proceeds. We work in a network of partner organisations in 14 European and non-European countries. We cooperate with diverse partners from the fields of historical and political education, social work, with memorial sites and human rights organisations.
Our goal is to raise awareness of the consequences of National Socialist crimes and take a stand against current forms of anti-Semitism, racism and monirity-group discrimination. Our international long- and short-term volunteer programmes as well as our educational work offer an opportunity for young people to learn about history, other cultures and societies and about themselves. They provide chances to experience and accept different patterns of thought and behaviour. The programmes help the volunteers to fight racism and anti-semitism and to commit themselves to the creation of a more tolerant, just and peaceful world.
Our main activities are: long-term voluntary services in Belarus (currently paused due to the political situation), Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia (currently paused due to the political situation), United Kingdom, Ukraine (currently paused due to the war against Ukraine) and USA - short-term voluntary services in Israel - international summer camps in various countries - two-week internships in Israel, Poland and USA for job trainees - educational trips to Belarus, Israel and Ukraine - Educational work (e.g. seminars, public events, publications, etc.)
We bring years of experience in the fields of educational, historical and political voluntary work and a solid network of various partnerships in European and non-European countries.
We are very interested on expanding our work in the EUROMED-countries. Being a member in the ALF Network could help us find possible partners for our future projects.
