Her Melody is a newly established non-profit organisation registered in Sweden and with a mission to support women as creators and producers in the music and art industry.

Her Melody works with international trainers and mentors with a unique background in the music and performing arts industry, based in Stockholm, London and New York.

Initially we are focusing our activities in Egypt and later on the Middle East and North Africa region.

We also work with academia and professors’ in social sciences focusing on resilience, gender, body, agency and sound studies. We offer trainings in music production techniques, project management, marketing and leadership and can offer tailored trainings on demand.

We also offer study trips and co-creation camps, performances and studio recording opportunities.

Her Melody is open to all members who are interested to join in. We are currently seeking partnerships, sponsors and funding through governmental organisations, international organisations and private enterprises. We have a partner in London through PTR Strategic and Aref Studios in Egypt.

Mission and Objectives

We are working for equal opportunities for women producers and creators in the music and art industry. We want to push young women to own their creative processes from idea to reality, to have the skills and know-how to realise their talents and dreams.

Our goal is to contribute to an increased number of women producers and creators in music, film and arts. We want women’s stories to be told and listened to. We want her story about success, struggle and challenge to be an inspiration for generations to come. Women’s equality and empowerment is one of the Sustainable Development Goals and an integral to all dimensions of inclusive and sustainable development.

Her Melody is working to contribute to gender equality and development. At the outset we believe that musical and artistic expressions are human rights and contribute to welfare, peace, prosperity and resilience in our societies.

Main Projects / Activities

We offer professional trainings & workshops tailored to your needs.

Music production techniques

- from basic to more advanced trainings. Learn how to work with your DAW and write, edit, mix and produce music that sounds professional and ready for the world to hear. We can also tailor the training to your needs or the groups’ specific needs. Studio Recording techniques -Training focusing on recording techniques for instruments and vocals. Plan, set-up, and perform recording sessions. Select appropriate hardware such microphones, direct boxes, audio interface and pre-amps for recording a variety of instruments and vocals. Edit and mix music recordings and use plug-ins to produce professional productions. Critically listen to mixed and unmixed music to develop an understanding arrangements, productions and how to get the sound you want and remedy sonic problems etc.

Legal rights training

- PTR Strategic is a specialist provider of legal and business affairs services to the international music sector. We focus on three core areas: Industry & Institutional Support, Commercial & Advisory Services and Creative/Community support.

Project management

-when you take your creative process from idea to final product it can be helpful to master a few project management techniques. We can help you find strategies to manage your creative process in an effective and structured way.

Marketing

- marketing strategies and doing your pitch right are key to take your creations to an audience. We can help you identify a plan and steps to get there. The creative industry is requiring you to constantly be on top of the opportunities that are available. We help you identify what’s unique about you, brand and package your creations.

Leadership

- we can help you develop you leadership skills and give you tools and strategies to be an inclusive leader. Inclusive leadership is the ability to manage and lead a heterogeneous group of people efficiently, while respecting their uniqueness in an empathetic, bias-free way.

How to counter resistance

- being a woman and particularly a young woman in a male dominated industry can be challenging. It can be important to learn how to manage domination techniques. We have mentors and trainers with experience in this field and we use evidence based techniques and methods in our trainings, seminars and workshops. We will focus on gendering practices as lived experience rather than as fixed subject positions, which means paying attention to women’s subjectivities and agency. The notion of experience has been problematic for feminist theory, which has assumed a ‘unity’ between women as women, and viewed experience as a source of ‘true’ knowledge while neglecting its relation to locally constructed knowledge. An awareness of the disarray between women as women and the heterogeneity of women’s experiences in relation to class, ethnicity, and age for example is crucial when discussing women’s role in patriarchal spaces.

Work life balance

- Having a healthy work-life balance is one of the most important factors in maintaining a positive physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Finding time to produce, create or make music when you are either working a full-time job, studying full-time, being a parent, or just simply attempting to balance all of life’s demands can be challenging. We help you take the steps to improve your work-life balance. It will have huge benefits on your career, mental health, relationships and creative processes.

Coaching & Mentoring

- are two different methods that can dramatically improve individual performance. Coaching is often a short-term conversation and is non-directive which means that it is about asking the right questions, providing trust, confidence and space for the individual to set goals and objectives, find strength and capabilities within themselves. Our coaching sessions follows a structure and can be helpful for individuals or organisations seeking to improve individual and organisational performance. Mentoring is often longer-term and a lot more directive. It is about the mentor sharing their knowledge, experience and skills, telling the mentee how to deal with issues and guiding them through direction. The mentee is the driver of the relationship and decide what they wish to achieve and which goals they have for their mentoring relationships. Her Melody have access to mentors who are well known music producers, professional artists and creators who can share their insights and guide you in your creative process.

Specialised trainings

- Gender and Sound Across Cultures, Sound and Listening: Gendered Bodies, Spaces and Places Studio recordings, co-creation camps and study trips - will also be part of Her Melody’s activities to achieve the objective of the organisation.

General Information

We are a knowledge-oriented Upper Secondary school with a great international perspective. Here is a wide selection of educations with great opportunities for advanced courses in, for example, music and mathematics.

We have nearly 1900 students and 250 teachers.

- Exchange of ideas concerning teaching theory and practise as well as culture.

Mission and Objectives

Our aim is to increase the opportunities of cultural understanding and acceptance for our different approaches to schools’ curricula regarding Science, Art and Music.

Exchange of pedagogical and methodological ideas and discussions about perspectives with respect to teaching approaches to the subjects and thorough comparison between theories of curricula gives a foundation for the analytical part of the exchange program.

Main Projects / Activities

We were part of a workshop at The World Culture Museum in Gothenburg. Principals and teachers from all partner schools were invited. Then, we had an exhibition in Alexandria and we organised a concert.

The economics program is a university preparatory program with a focus on studies in mainly economics, law and other social science areas.

With our aesthetic program, you get the best of both worlds: a study preparation education with university qualifications that simultaneously develops you musically. It opens up many choices for the future.

The sales and service program is a new program at Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium that starts in the autumn of 2022 and replaces the Trade and Administration program. This is a vocational program for those who are interested in working in the trading industry with sales, marketing, leadership and service.

International Bachelor: Founded in the 1960s, the IBO grew out of international schools’ efforts to establish a common curriculum and university entry credential for geographically mobile students.

The social sciences program is a university preparatory program. After graduating from the program, students must have knowledge for university studies in a broad field of social sciences.

The science program at Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium has both breadth and excellence and is a very stimulating education.

General Information

The main objective of the organization is to promote integration between cultures and counteract violence between cultures in Sweden and in another countries. With culture we mean Individual. In this way we would like state that we are not only working with integration of refugees/minorities/immigrants but also we are working with integration of cultures in different level.

We have a board with 7 members plus 3 supplementers. In our main office we have 3 EVS volunteers,2 Workers and Organization Developer working together. Since 2013 we applied many Erasmus + projects and huge part of budget is coming from this fund.

We have organized or participated in more than 20 Erasmus KA 1 and currently 12 Erasmus + KA2 projects we are working on. Our NGO has realy strong connections with Orkelljunga Municipality and Schools in Orkelljunga. We cooperate on local and international way.We have been working with organizations such as Save the Children, Red Cross, Other  Municipalities in order to enlarge our network and experiences.

There are 25 active volunteers, 6 staff and 15 weekly activities to work with integration in south of Sweden.

Mission and Objectives

The organization fulfils the main objective through

• giving help to self-help so that the individual’s understanding of her/his own culture and self-esteem amplifies.

• providing multi-cultural meeting places where the exchange of experiences, values and cultures promote individual’s life quality

• building social network between different cultures

• encouraging the individual to take responsibility in society

• developing and practicing effective and creative approaches/methods for integration, both formal and non-formal.

• spreading information in order to increase awareness of the meaning of culture and different cultures.

Main Projects / Activities

IFALL works with integration in different levels. Our target group is young and adult with fewer opportunities such as refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, elderly people etc.. They often face a lot of barriers in terms of accessing education, employment and future trainings. Sometimes these people need supporting and advice about what they want to achieve and then what is feasible considering their social status within the country therefore we offer non-formal learning methods to improve their competences in areas such as film making, sport, music and creative drama so their horizons are opened in different careers and integration into society is achieved.

a) Ground Level; We have several activity groups such as language cafes, homework support, film evenings, sport days, IFALL football team, women and girls group, and international evenings. These activities are weekly or monthly and our volunteers are planning and organizing. Target group often is immigrant background people/refugees and local Swedish people.

b) Intellectual Level; We are applying for adult education and youth projects in local and international levels. Erasmus + and Nordplus are main funds that we are working with. In this level youth and adult volunteers became more experienced with projects especially about sharing best practices between project partners. This is a kind of platform for our volunteers that they can prepare activities for ground level.

c) Informative Level; We prepare seminars, conferences, panels and handbooks for local people, social worker, teacher, volunteers who can follow new information about integration and cultures. Nonformal education and methods are applied for these levels of activity. Creative Drama and Film making are some of methods which IFALL uses in trainings.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

As a small and new organization IFALL we want to reach much more people to develop our envoiremental network for having better Skane, better Sweden, better Europe and better World in lights of our vision and mission. Experiences gained through international project we are ready to share it and also looking forward to learn from other perspectives.Especially in Skane we are willing to have some meetings to schedule followint meet-ups,seminars and exchanges between other ngos or organizations such as :  -Promoting Erasmus + -Sharing best practies  -Creative Drama methods  -Non violent communication  -And dissemination of on going local and international projects.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

As we mentioned above to execute this part we need more people.Especially in small cities like Orkelljunga sometimes  its realy hard to find people to send abroad (for projects we got from Erasmus +). Therefore to find more people especially youngs ALF network can help us to build trustworthy relations between organizations. Instead of organizations we dont know before we prefer to build a strong connections with organizations we ll work in the future.ALF network is already showed its sustainability and realy promising for following years. It ll be our pleasure to take part such a multicultural network where our objectives are matching.
