The Constitutional and Legal Egyptian Organization for Human Rights is the first Alexandria based human rights NGO. It was founded in 2005, under the registration number 1835. The organization has a board of members including 4 lawyers (2 women), and relies also on volunteers.
Mission and Objectives

1. Disseminate constitutional and legal culture
2. Increase awareness on basic human rights
3. provide citizens with legal assistance in social, cultural, environmental, health and economical aspects.
Work mechanisms:
1. Provide citizens with free of charge legal assistance in social, cultural, environmental, health and economical aspects
2. Organize training courses for citizens to raise their legal and constitutional awareness and basic human rights culture
3. Organize conferences, seminars and workshops
4. Prepare and publish studies, books and researches to promote citizens' awareness
5. Exert efforts to eradicate all kinds of discrimination against women according to international human rights laws and the Egyptian constitution
6. Provide children with all necessary support

Main Projects / Activities

1. The Organization raised complaints against electoral commission's rules on accepting and rejecting the nomination of candidates in Bab Sharqi's constituency
2. Monitored a case of arbitrary enforcement of a law (no.10) which was issued to impose tariffs on cleanness services, and did not comply with Egyptian human rights laws
3. Launching a popular campaign amongst Alexandrian citizens to be sent to the Governor of Alexandria and calling for the elimination of citizens' livelihood hardships
4. Observes the performance of local MPs and reports to them issues related to citizens' problems
5. Monitored, in coordination with the National Council for Human Rights, the previous Presidential and Parliamentary elections, with the help of 49 volunteers.

The Development and Institutionalization Support Center (DISC) was founded in 2005 as a non-governmental organization engaged in the delivery of management, research, marketing, media, non-governmental organization capacity building, and institutionalization consulting services. DISC's mission is to achieve sustainable development responsive to the needs of individuals, organizations, and communities by empowering people to craft their own strategies, policies, and regulations. General Information

The Dialogue Company is a training and consultancy social enterprise working in the field of Dialogue, Conflict Resolution, and Non-Violent Communication. The company is building on the history of the Ambassadors for Dialogue project in Egypt, where there is a team of more than 200 trained dialogue facilitators from all over Egypt facilitating dialogue spaces, teaching people about dialogue, and opening dialogue about a diversity of issues. The company offers a variety of activities that help individuals and institutions enhance their capacities through learning about dialogue, conflict resolution, and nonviolent communication. We work on the national level in Egypt, on the Regional level in the Arab world, and internationally as well.

The company has 5 employees at the moment.

Budget resources for the past 6 months:
1. A project with the Danish youth Council (DUF)
2. Training consultancies with: The American University in Cairo, Terres des hommes (TDH), The Czech Embassy, The Egyptian Association for Community Development (EACD)

A bit of History:
In 2009, three organizations came together to work on the Ambassadors for Dialogue project from Egypt, Jordan, and Denmark. Soon enough the project extended its work to Tunisia as well.
In Egypt, Ambassadors for dialogue worked as a project from 2009 until 2016 under the legal umbrella of the Egyptian Youth Federation. In September 2017 the Legal umbrella of the project changed to the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Initiative (DEDI) until February 2023. In March 2023, Ambassadors for Dialogue Egypt was founded as a training and consultancy company called “The Dialogue Company”. In pursuit of keeping the identity of the project, the company is founded as a social enterprise with the main aim of keeping the activities that serve the youth accessible and open.

From 2009 to 2023 in numbers:
220 young people from Egypt were trained as dialogue facilitators, 100 of which are currently active and are capable of facilitating dialogue spaces and dialogue workshops in all the governorates around Egypt.
More than 22,000 participants across Egypt participated in our dialogue workshops.
We have worked in 25 governorates across Egypt.
We have provided more than 1000 workshops for diverse target groups among which are youth, children and employees.
We have trained 7 international teams who have facilitated workshops in Denmark, Egypt, Tunis, and Jordan.
We have developed several training Manuals, one of which is the Dialogue Handbook that gathers our methodology, another is how to establish and sustain an international partnership.

Throughout the years, Ambassadors for Dialogue has worked with different partnerships whether non-governmental, governmental, or private, some of which are:
Public and Private universities such as: Ain Shams University, and Mansoura University, American University of Cairo.
Ministries such as: Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Ministry of social solidarity.
International aid organizations such as GIZ.
Different UN agencies such as: UNCRC and UNV.
Different International organizations such as: Goethe, CRS, Save the children, and TDH.
Some student activities and NGOs such as: Enactus, Ruwaad, Alwan w Awtar, and Tawasol.

Our vision is: to promote peaceful coexistence by means of dialogue.

Our main objective is: to enhance mutual understanding between youth across national, cultural, ideological and other divides.

Main Projects / Activities

Our methodology:
Our main methodology is dialogue. By dialogue, we mean this special form of communication where the participants seek to actively create greater mutual understanding and deeper insight. This type of dialogue is mainly built on four main principles: trust, openness, honesty, and equality. In our workshops and trainings, we depend on Experiential learning and gamification for more engagement of the participants in the learning process.

What we offer:
We Offer Training, workshops, manual development, games design.

In training we offer:
Short training to train people on dialogue and how to use dialogue tools in their daily lives or their professional lives. And long training to train people on how to facilitate dialogue spaces and how to use dialogue as a methodology.

In workshops we offer:
Long and short workshops that help participants experience dialogue through interactive activities. The workshops focuses can vary between dialogue with the self, dialogue with the other, and how to work in a team using dialogue.

In Manual development we offer:
Manuals design that are engaging and that have dialogue as a component. The Manuals could be about any topic or theme like gender or environment, and the company will write it in an engaging and dialogical way.

In Games design we offer:
Dialogical games that introduce dialogue in informal spaces. A dialogical game means that the players play a game and engage in dialogue with one another while playing the game. The dialogue company has produced 7ewary game which is a board game that helps players engage in dialogue.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We have accummulated 14 years of experience in working with non violent communication, specifically dialogue. This accumulated knowledge and expertise could be channeled into the activities of the network to strengthen the ties of the network members, possibly develop their skills if and when its needed, and also jointly plan activities together. And of course whatever is seen fit the ALF team.

Joining the network for us would mean exposure to a diversity of organizations with a diversity of expertise which will be a big learning opportunity. On the other hand, what the foundation itself offers from support in the shape of the programs it is offering would be a source of learning.

The Egyptian Association for Historical Studies was founded by Royal decree in 1945 as the Royal Association for Historical Studies, and took its present name after the 1952 Revolution. The organization, since its foundation, aimed at revive historical studies in Egypt, and at developing historical awareness amongst the Egyptian citizens. The organization is managed by a Board, regrouping some of its members, and under the direction of Dr. Raouf Abbas.
Mission and Objectives

The main objective of the Egyptian Association for Historical Studies is to revive historical studies, and to develop historical awareness amongst the Egyptian citizens.

Main Projects / Activities

The Association undertakes cultural activities, mainly directed towards the community, as the following:
- Undertakes and encourages historical studies related to Egypt and the Arab World.
- Collects historical documents and records related to the History of Egypt and the Arab world.
- Publishes works and graphs related to the above subjects.
- Publishes a periodical including studies and researches undertaken by the Association.
- Organizes conferences and trips related to the field of historical studies.
- Proposes courses and advanced workshop sessions.
- Organizes Seminars regrouping eminent specialists from Egypt and abroad.
- Organizes an annual conference, usually at the beginning of April, which world renowned scholars attend. This year's conference included an Homage to the famous historian "Andre Raymond".

تنطلق الجمعية من رؤية شمولية للمستقبل الذي ترغب أن يكون عليه النشء وكذلك الشباب في مصر . رؤية تتمثل في "شباب ممكن ومسئول لديه الفرص المتنوعة والمتكافئة للتطور والنمو المتوازن. شباب قادر على الوصول إلى الخدمات والمعلومات التي يحتاجها لتطوير ذاته ومجتمعه. شباب قادر على الاعتماد على ذاته، ويفكر بشكل نقدي وبناء، ويكون له دور ونصيب مميز في عملية التنمية والبناء والتغيير المجتمعي، وإبداء الرأي تجاه كافة قضاياه وقضايا مجتمعه. وأن يتوفر له كل أشكال الدعم والتسهيلات والفرص. شباب ملتزم ومنغرس ومتجذر في وطنه يستند إلى تراث غني، ومنظومة من القيم الإنسانية كالمواطنة والعدالة، والمساواة وتكافؤ الفرص بين الشباب بشكل عام، وبين الذكور والإناث بشكل خاص، ويؤمن بالديمقراطية وبالتعددية الفكرية والسياسية والثقافية واحترام وسيادة القانون".

تتطلع المؤسسة الى تنفيذ برامج ومشروعات داخل جمهورية مصر العربية من خلال التعاون مع الشبكة اعتمادا على قدرة الجمعية المؤسسية ولا سيما ان الجمعية ابرمت عدد من بروتوكولا تاتعاون مع عدد من الجهات داخل نطاق عمل الجمعية منها وزارة الدولة للشباب ووزارة التربية والتعليم وكذلك الاتحاد المصرى للكشافة والمرشدات , وهذا مايتيح للجمعية العمل بشكل مؤسسى مع تلك المؤسسات فى مصر

General Information
Baseera is a private company owned by 11 partners from academics. Baseera has 2 working lines, the first is a for-profit line that implement projects funded by the customers. The other line is the public interest projects that are self-funded by baseera. Baseera provides a comprehensive toolbox of outputs. The Center designs tailor-made polls to beneficiaries or clients. Baseera also conducts its own research and opinion trackers that are available publicly or for clients upon agreement. The different formats provided by Baseera include: • Opinion Trends and Opinion Reports • Market Research • Social and Behavioral Research • Media Research and Content Analysis including (audio visual and social media) • Demographic Studies • Information Reports The main partners involved in Baseera are: • UN entities. • Media. • Universities.
Mission and Objectives

Our vision is to provide high quality, reliable research based on robust data in both a timely and cost-effective manner. At Baseera, there is a serious dedication to provide insightful advice and rigorous data for all our beneficiaries.
Objectives:
- Promoting the informed use of evidence – based public opinion research on developmental, socio- economic and political spheres.
- Creating societal debates on major issues influencing the Egyptian citizens.
- Providing consultations in the working fields of the organization and its areas of expertise.
- Designing and delivering capacity building and training programs in the working fields of the organization.
- Maintaining and constantly expanding a computerized database of survey research and public opinion data.
- Building partnerships with governmental, non-governmental and international organizations for fostering the public opinion industry.
- Disseminating findings and sharing best practices in the field both locally and internationally.

Main Projects / Activities

Baseera conducted several phone polls, surveys and analytical reports during its short lifetime since its establishment in April 2012. Some of our outputs are:
1- “Referendum of the Egyptian constitution” poll, 2012.
2- “Women aspirations after the 25th January revolution” survey, 2012.
3- “President’s approval rate polls series”, 2012.
4- “Attitude of Egyptians towards the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Egypt”, 2012.
5- “Attitude of Egyptians towards a Coptic Vice-President for Egypt”, 2012.
6- “Attitude of Egyptians towards a female Vice-President for Egypt”, 2012.
7- “Pre-election polls for the presidential election”, 2012.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Established on April, 2012 in the aftermath of the January 25th revolution, Baseera's membership in the network will form a win-win relationship with Anna Lindh. Baseera can play an essential role in reflecting Egyptians' opinion, thoughts, aspirations and needs that have been changed after the revolution. This will help the network members to better understand the Egyptian context after the January 25th revolution.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We seek joining the ALF in order to enhance our possibilities of cooperation with Euro-mediterranean countries to improve mutual collaboration in research fields. Also we seek joining the ALF to introduce ourself as the first independent center for opinion research in the Arab world, thus to find partners across Euro-Mediterranean region to enhance more intercultural dialogue via different fields of research.

The Egyptian Centre for Human Rights Education(ECHRE) has - Board of Trustees, director, executive manager and fundraising manger. - Budgetary resources still a contribution from the founding team. - ECHRE has developed three projects to integrate human rights education in the higher educational level in the 17 public Universities in Egypt. a) University administration project b) teaching staff project and c) University students project. Echre has developed a project proposal for training course for trainers on HRE in the non formal Education. - Main partners are; 1) The Centre for Human Rights Education at Curtin University of Technology. Australia 2) Association for Austrian-Arab Youth and Student Cooperation. Austria 3) The Association of Freedom of Thought and Expression (AFTE) . Mission and Objectives

The mission of ECHRE is to promote formal and informal human rights education in Egypt and the Arab World as a whole by (a) focusing on the human rights education of children, youth, university students and young adults, (b) working towards the creation of a suitable institutional and legal environment for future generations of human rights advocates and defenders, (c) support existing local and regional human rights institutions and organisations with the same or similar fundamental objectives, (d) cooperating with local, regional and international scholars, activists and civil society organisations to achieve our mission, and (e) establishing strong networks between human rights educators from the Arab region and beyond.

Main Projects / Activities

Realising the need to adress youth and young people through informal educational methods with have established the Human Rights Club, which inter alia includes the set-up of a student and youth online radio and a discussion forum on human rights. In the context of the Human Rights Club, we employ different strategies to increase awareness to the importance human rights and human rights education. For example, we are currently creating an extensive bi-lingual human rights database on our website. The ECHRE Resource Center is an electronic gateway, serving as an access point for all people interested in learning about human rights, in particular from the Arab World. ECHRE continuously collects materials in both English and Arabic, focusing on international human rights documents, court decisions, educational/didactical materials, training guidelines, curriculas, NGO publications, reports, books and articles. The Resource Center also provides information on blogs, newsletters and forums in the field of human rights. A seperate sections contains useful audio and video materials.
