The Departments’ mission and main objectives are summarized as follows:
· Education: teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students, awarding a bachelor’s degree for becoming a qualified dietitian, as well as Master’s and Doctoral degrees on nutrition. The Department is the only University Department in the country in the field of dietetics and nutritional sciences.
· Research: supporting and implementing research in all nutrition-related areas, including health promotion, community nutrition, dietary management in health and disease, basic nutrition science, nutrigenonics-nutrigenetics, and development of methodologies. Several of the projects implemented are supported by European grants.
· Public policy services: providing nutritional and health promotional services to the community, consulting Governmental and non-Governmental agencies on issues related to the development and implementation of nutrition policies, providing scientific support to the Food Industry.

Συγκεκριμένα οι στόχοι υπηρετούνται μέσω της ανάπτυξης δραστηριοτήτων που αφορούν την δημιουργία και την προαγωγή του πολιτισμού στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό, ιδία δε στις ανά τον κόσμο κοινότητες των Ελλήνων, την παροχή συμβουλευτικών υπηρεσιών σε θέματα πολιτισμού και ανάδειξης του, καθώς και την καθ’ οιονδήποτε τρόπο υποστήριξη των ευάλωτων κοινωνικών ομάδων. Με την ανάπτυξη δραστηριοτήτων που αφορούν στη δημιουργία και την προαγωγή του πολιτισμού στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό. Με την ενίσχυση της δημόσιας συνειδητοποίησης και εικόνας του ρόλου της πολιτιστικής διπλωματίας. Με την επιμόρφωση και εκπαίδευση στελεχών που εκουσίως υπηρετούν την Πολιτιστική Διπλωματία σε κάθε μορφή. Με την έρευνα και τεκμηρίωση ζητημάτων πολιτιστικής ανάπτυξης και την ευρεία δημοσιοποίησή τους. Με υποστήριξη της Ελληνικής Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς και την ανάδειξή της σε διεθνές επίπεδο. Με διοργάνωση συνεδρίων, σεμιναρίων, συζητήσεων, εκδόσεων, εκθέσεων και πάσης φύσεως εκδηλώσεων, καθώς και τη δημοσίευση μελετών και ερευνών συναφών με τους σκοπούς τού Ινστιτούτου. Με τη συλλογή, προστασία και διάσωση ιστορικών αρχείων, έργων, ιχνών και μνημείων τού Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού. Με τη θεσμοθέτηση, προκήρυξη και χορήγηση οικονομικών ενισχύσεων για την προώθηση των Ελλήνων δημιουργών και των έργων τους, αλλά και μελετών ή ερευνών, συναφών με τους σκοπούς τού Ινστιτούτου. Με τη θεσμοθέτηση της απονομής βραβείων και υποτροφιών σε πρόσωπα, ομάδες, φορείς ή ενότητες προσώπων, που διακρίνονται με το έργο τους στο πεδίο της υπηρεσίας των σκοπών του Ινστιτούτου.

The mission of Hellas For Us is to promote active citizenship, social transformation, equality, and inclusion. The objectives of the organization are to create a more equitable and just society by empowering individuals and communities to take action and work towards a common goal of social change. Additionally, Hellas For Us aims to foster a culture of inclusion and respect, where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel valued and have equal access to opportunities and resources. Through their programs and initiatives, Hellas For Us seeks to build bridges between communities, promote understanding and dialogue, and create lasting social impact.

HellasEurope is a no profit organisation which aims to promote, both on a national and international level, the values of the European community and in particular the ones stated in the EU Lisbon treaty. In particular the association aims to support active citizenship on a European dimension, sustainable development, dissemination of European policies, as well as the exchange of experiences and practices, the sharing of cultural values, the endorsement of lifelong education.
These goals are achieved by means of networking with public and private entities in Greece and in other EU countries, thorough exchange activities with partners, seminars, by means of dissemination and sensitisation events, cooperation with local and international authorities, development and implementation of projects, marketing, media communication. A special attention is given to the marginalised population. The associates (doctor, lawyer, journalist, psychologist, social worker, teachers, researcher, academics) cover, with their expertise, all the above mentioned intervention areas of interest.

Mainly: The protection of human rights and civilians' freedom, in Greece. The uprising of public opinion, aiming to create an ambiance of respect to human rights. The support of civilians in exercising their rights. The study, information, education and sensibilization on legal, social, cultural matters, as well as on matters of health, environment and quality of life. Relative publicity. The contribution in the extinction of discrimination. The struggle against exploitation, marginalization, degrading and undermining the quality of life and social exclusion.The intervention, in or out of court, in cases of violation or undermining of human rights and freedom. The study of civilians' problems, in atomic and collective level, leading to proposals for their resolvement. The use of art and culture as a bridge between ethnicities and as a means to fight discrimination and racist mentalities.

Our mission is the eradication of poverty and social exclusion.
In order to achieve this, we try:
- To promote and enhance the effectiveness of actions to eradicate poverty and prevent social exclusion;
- To raise awareness around poverty and social exclusion
- To empower the people living in poverty and social exclusion
- To lobby for and with people and groups facing poverty and social exclusion.

The main objective of HAI and of its activities has been, since its creation, to raise awareness about the role that informatics can and should play in promoting young people’ and society members’ participation and active involvement in a broad spectrum of issues (of social, cultural, environmental, etc nature), in diffusing and distributing updated and reliable information and in encouraging the utilization of information for the shaping of virtuous and socially viable behaviors.
HAI is the only organization active in Greece promoting the ideal of social activation and involvement through the use of modern information technologies. We cooperate with many other stakeholders’ active in the research fields, but also in social and informatics related issues and we inform and involve our members in events, exhibitions, conferences and exchanges, either organized by us or in cooperation with other groups and associations.

The main objectives of EKEM, as defined in its founding law, are: conduct of scientific research in the field of European integration and policies and cooperation with other relevant institutions and organizations for the coordination of the results of research, contribution to foreign policy formation and support to the work of the Greek Ministry for Foreign Affairs, organization of activities for the rise of public awareness and the promotion of the European identity, support of public administration by offering know-how on European issues and dissemination of its work in the academic community and the wider public through its publications.

The Foundation offers lessons in the Greek language, organizes cultural events, publishes books and maintains public libraries in their branch offices.
