Mission and Objectives

I. Background:
The Federation was founded by 11 of the most active youth-led NGOs in Cairo, Alexandria and Minia and registered on the 14th of January 2006 at the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity (registration # 4/2006). The federation is considered an umbrella and hub of Egyptian youth-led NGOs and NGOs working in the area of youth development. It is targeting to constitute all youth related NGOs in Egypt. Currently it has 14 members.
II. Mandate/Mission:
The federation main objectives are: first, to build the capacity of its member NGOs; second, to coordination of development efforts among its member NGOs; third to improve communication and coordination between the youth civil society (including NGOs and others) and other sectors like the donor, private and governmental sectors in their youth development activities; fourth establish national, regional and international youth contacts, exchange programs

FIG LEAF STUDIOS was founded in 2005, and acclaimed as one of Egypt’s leading houses for audio-visual productions. FIG LEAF STUDIOS focuses on innovative concepts and creative approaches. Experience of the in-house team is a blend of award-winning feature films, documentaries, commercials, music videos, and integrated media content. Services of FIG LEAF STUDIOS range from outsourcing facilities & equipment’s to consultancy (script – production..etc.), aside from diversified technical on-the-spot services, such as editing, sound design, shooting, probing, scoping and post-production services. FIG LEAF strives to support independent filmmaking, and believes that it is the sole driver of advancing, promoting and regenerating creative industry in Egypt and MENA region. Thus, it dedicates all its resources as to maintain and secure various means of production, whether it be monetary, technical expertise, and/or training, working on revitalizing cultural and arts movement in Egypt, and MENA. Since foundation, FIG LEAF STUDIOS produced over 200 audio-visual projects in partnership with AFAC, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Swedish Institute, UN, Google, COSPE and others. Projects ranged from feature, experimental, documentaries, and short films, which were officially screened in international film festivals to documentation of sustainable developmental projects funded by USAID, GIZ, SIDA and others, in different sectors and cities of Egypt. FIG LEAF STUDIOS managed to maintain a sound network of collaborators, local, regional and global to fulfill its mission. FIG LEAF STUDIOS, believe that arts empower both the curators and audiences.
Mission and Objectives

Fig Leaf's mission is nourish senses of audience with visual arts through all communication channels.
Our objectives cover a wide spectrum of scopes:

Serve as an incubator and experimental lab for novice adventurers

Provide mentoring and capacity building for independent film-makers

Excel ranking of Egyptian independent film-making globally

Provide integrated marketing communications for International and Local non-profits to convey messages, raise awareness and promote causes using visual arts

Production House
FIG LEAF as a pool of highly creative professionals working towards creating unique and out of the box content for our clients. We have strong industry alliances, in house production and post-production facilities, and a spectrum of talents. FIG LEAF STUDIOS’ team of Creative Directors, Line Producers, Production coordinators, Video editors, and sound engineering, pull out all the stops to bring in a unique perspective and sensitivity to all projects. FIG LEAF STUDIOS has recently established distribution and sales channels to cover MENA and Europe. Hence empowering and engaging local creative minds with regional and global markets.
FIG LEAF STUDIOS, has proudly produced the Swedish Fiction Film Under the Pyramid, for 2014, of a total budget exceeding a million EGP. FIG LEAF STUDIOS have a risk management and operation monitoring team which feeds into benchmarking of market quality.
FIG LEAF STUDIOS was the production company for Microphone Film, which introduced the underground bands of Alexandria to main stream public and star-system commercial films. Where sales and distribution of independent films were profoundly established, and allying with different segments of film-making industries facilitated large scale productions and regional distributions.
Creative Team
We provide our clients with strategies of establishing  a market profile using film production techniques. Our branding and marketing strategies are altogether mixed in our creative labs, to produce all media and formats – TV/CINEMA, corporate, and interactive web/digital campaigns including social media platforms.   
Film School
FIG LEAF STUDIOS partnered with Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria to run Film School for three years in a row. Where FIG LEAF STUDIOS provide technical content management of taught curriculum, mentorship and it’s studios for graduates to edit and design sound of their graduation projects. So far around 27 students were graduated, with a 30% of them being international award winners and officially selected in renowned film festivals.
International Causes, Non-Profit
FIG LEAF STUDIOS have been bridging the gap in the outreach of non-profit organizations both to their target beneficiaries and main stream public by introducing film products tackling causes such as HIV, cultural heritage, ecology, climate change….etc. Films produced for socio-economic and cultural causes were awarded local and international recognition awards for artistic content and supporting active role of creative industries in leveraging the awareness of community.

DOCUMENTARIES & INDIES
FIG LEAF STUDIOS empowers the independent film-makers by extending it’s sound expertise and established networks to emerging boomers. Aside from line production, casting, scouting and executive production, FIG LEAF STUDIOS support post production, distribution and sales of documentaries and indies, to regional MENA channels and Europeans, such as MAROC 2M for francophone Maghreb, Rotana, AlArabiya and others.
Going in parallel is submitting the films to international festivals such Venice, Toronto, Dubai and others. Where quality made difference and positioned Egyptian independent film-making on the global map.

Faire prendre conscience par les autorités de la ville et ses habitants que la propreté peut être améliorée et est de la responsabilité de chacun et de tous information par des réunions pour les adultes,conférences dans les écoles etc.... Répertorier les richesses patrimoniales, culturelles,artisanales et culinaires de la ville Créer et organiser un circuit pédestre, passant par les coins typiques; un circuit en calèche dans la campagne environnante et des balades sur le Nil Créer un musée Contacter des responsables en monuments historiques afin que les restaurations entreprises soient effectuées par des personnes compétentes et désireuses de sauvegarder le patrimoine

comme il est expliqué ci-dessus, donner à la ville un essor nécessaire à l'amélioration des conditions de vie de ses habitants tout en voulant préserver le caractère authentique d'une petite ville du Delta. Cette région méconnue par le grand tourisme est à même de donner de l'EGYPTE une perspective très différente des régions du sud et d'intéresser un tourisme plus culturel. Si le progrès est arrivé jusqu'ici il reste dans la vie quotidienne,citadine et rurale, une authenticité que beaucoup recherchent et apprécient. Il faut que les habitants prennent conscience de ces richesses et les conserves. Depuis le 25 janvier, les jeunes, avec enthousiasme veulent participer activement à ces changements, mais restent fiers de leurs traditions et patrimoine culturel!

What We Do? 
We organize events and create online content that mainly revolve around 4 models
• Model 1: Uno Culture
In that model we go through a particular culture, trying to show its beauty and richness through (Movies, Music, Poetry, Visual Arts, Etc.), Making them know more about the culture through games and quizzes and of course serving them one of the popular dishes in that culture.
• Model 2: Multi Cultures
In that model we present many cultures that have something in common, historical & geographical relations in particular.

• Model 3: Art & Artist
In that model we show and discuss a work of art (Movie, Play, Photograph or painting...Etc.), then talk about its creator and his/her other works.
•  Model 4: Issues & Discussions
In that model we tackle a topic that is related to our values, via organizing various types of events (Debates, Open talks, Clubs and Workshops...Etc.).

 Why We Do It?
• Locally (On the scale of Alexandria):
We aim to show the cosmopolitan visage of Alexandria as a Historical city that contains many types of heritage and cultural backgrounds.
• Globally:
We aim to help in the peace building process globally by reducing fear.
We believe that the source of Discrimination and demagogue is fear, once we break that fear -especially fear of differences- we will be able to reduce all types of discrimination and restrain demagogue speech that overtakes nowadays.
We want to increase people's urge to accept new thoughts and backgrounds.

"Food & stuff "أكل و حاجات is a cultural project started in September 2016 and located in Alexandria, Egypt.
The project aims to connect all kinds of cultural products (Cinema – Music – Theater – Literature, etc.) from all over the world and link them with one main motif: Food. We aim to merge all backgrounds and in one cultural pot which will modestly help in reducing the fear of differences and make people more open to different ideas and beliefs.
Our activities: Currently we are working on series of events that aim to show the culture of different countries through Cinema, Music and one of the popular dishes from that country.
We hope that someday in the future we may contribute in the process of world peace creation and help empowering youth and amateurs like ourselves.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

I can contribute to the network in my country by organizing events seek to show what other organizations in the network do, form partnerships and co-organize events with them.
We work on intercultural dialogue activities which will open the space for me to contribute with other network organization each in their field.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

ALF had many activities in Egypt revolved around intercultural dialogue - which is our main interest -, So we think joining ALF Network will be a great addition to our activities and it will add to us new knowledge.

General Information
January 1st 2010, the Association Française des Volontaires du Progrès, AFVP, created in 1963, become France Volontaires, on the initiative of public authorities and associations.France Volontaires is a platform which play a role of interface. It currently has a presence in 55 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin . In Egypt we have a representative of the platform who works with local partners. we have now a network of more than 80 associations, our partners in Egypt. France Volontaires budget comes from the Ministry of Foreign and European. our activities : Sending volunteers Supporting the different stakeholder of volunteerism Organising workshop and meeting to improve volunteers capacity and create a network of volunteers. our partners: in France secondary school pupils, students young graduates working professionals retired people etc. associations territorial collectivities public bodies companies, foundations, individuals etc
Mission and Objectives

France Volontaires is charged with a general interest mission, that is, “promoting and developing the various forms of involvement that fall under the remit of International Volunteering for Exchange and Solidarity (I.V.E.S.), and helping to implement them. This project is carried out in a spirit of respect for the values set out in the communal charter, upheld by the organisations sending out volunteers and the volunteers themselves.” (Article 1 of the statutes).

Main Projects / Activities

In practical terms, it is therefore a case of:
improving knowledge and recognition of the diff erent forms of volunteering;
helping to develop the number of I.V.E.S. in terms of quality and quantity, while
pursuing its mission of sending out International Volunteers for Solidarity;
supporting associations that send out IVES in their missions of mobilisation, preparation,
monitoring, management and reintegration of people when they get back;
making the I.V.E.S. sector more dynamic;
n helping strengthen public policy in France.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

France Volontaires (and before AFVP) is a member of the French network of the Anna Lindh Foundation since 2008.It is natural that France Volontaires Egypte, committed since 2010 for the development of civic engagement in the country wants to join theEgyptian FAL network.
In a context marked by the changes, reforms and revolutions experienced by Arab societies, but also by the global economic and social crisis which raises new challenges for living together, synergies should be promoted between civil society actors who share same values ​​and work for a common cause.
Through its volunteering spaces in Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, France Volontaires can encourage and facilitate the networking of volunteering actors in Mediterranean, by placing volunteering as a tool for dialogue and peace for youth whom desire an active participation in the construction of the society.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Through its action and its reflection in the Euro-Mediterranean area, France Volontaires joined the Foundation objectives considering intercultural dialogue as a factor in mobilizing civil society, to enhance the diversity, the promotion of the participation of society in the construction of open and pluralistic democracies, and promoting inclusive and sustainable human development.
In addition, for several years, with their international volunteers for solidarity, France Volontaires supports cultural and artistic cooperation projects in Euro-Mediterranean.
In Egypt, France Volontaires supports such projects since 2003 to raise awareness of alexandrian youth for the Alexandrian, Egyptian and Mediterranean Heritage in partnership with the Centre d'Etudes Alexandrines and cooperation between Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur and Alexandria.

1. Implementation of educational activities and educational, cultural, health, social and sports and art, especially in the education sector in order to raise the standard of education in Egypt to reduce the school dropout phenomenon.
2. Lending to small project within the geographic targeting project funded by the Social Fund for Development through the qualitative Federation of women working in the field.
