Image
ALD gender media

Join us in this online interactive workshop, organised by Anna Lindh Foundation Cyprus Network, which aims to provide the space for an exchange of knowledge, expertise and practices between civil society and media representatives, policy makers and members of the general public across the Euro-Med region on the challenges deriving from unequal practices in the media regarding gender, and particularly the representation of women.

Participants from Cyprus and the other ALF network countries will have the opportunity to be offered a general perspective on the issue, by Ms Maria Angeli (Project coordinator and researcher, Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies), and explore the role of digital technologies, and particularly smartphones, in shaping dominant female representations across borders, with Ms Photini Vrikki (Research Lead, Media What).

The workshop will also include an interactive, facilitated process led by Charis Charalambous (Conversation Cafe Cyprus) to discuss initiatives and ideas that can foster multidimensional approaches in media environments that take into consideration the reality, experiences, needs and contributions of all citizens.

The workshop will take place on March 31st, 16 - 18.00 EET | Zoom

Registration is mandatory by 28th March 2022 by filling in the form here. Registered participants will receive an agenda and Zoom details before the event.
