Semat has been supporting independent cinema and encouraging youth to create their own images, rhythms and thoughts on screen. SEMAT's main goal is to capacitate a new generation of filmmakers. To reach this goal we have supported productions, held screenings, and issued a magazine specialized in the affairs of independent cinema.
Very early on, Semat was awakened to the importance of education and training as an essential tool to complement talent. Hence workshops became a big part of the organization's activities. Semat has accumulated a lot of experience in this field over the years.
• Producing films on two levels:
- Executing scripts selected by the reading committee.
- Through workshops, certain projects are chosen for production.
• Partial support for production by:
- Providing the required equipment for shooting and editing
- Registering the required licenses.
- Executing prints or posters for films.
• Supporting distribution
