Başak Culture and Art Foundation aims to carry out various activities to discover, support and promote artistic abilities of poor and/or low-paid young people and to eliminate difficulties they face in building their personal capacity. It is also aimed at orienting young people to be more productive and taking part in the social life as an individual and making scientific researches in the field of culture and art.
Meeting of Different Cultures on the Streets” Project aims to bring young people from different cultures, to make them join each other with productivity of art, to have a powerful togetherness through knowing different cultures and to improve consciousness of art. Especially reaching children and young people, who have no possibility to meet or to reach art activities or have limited resources and are disadvantaged, is the basic point of our projects.
Activities:
* Cultural and Artistic Courses.
It is aimed to support the spiritual development, to conduct the active energy by the artistic works, to develop the self confidence, to obtain the habit to work as group, to have hand ability, to increase the attention and sensibility, to connect relation between the event and facts, to enlarge the creativity and the imagination world, to obtain positive point of view, to reveal/development of the artistic capacity. Within this extent we organize Theatre, Painting, Ceramic, Modern Dance, Pandomim, folklore, Origamy, Music, Musical instruments, Guitar, Solfege. It has been benefited so many children and young for these courses. Six of them are attending private music school; two of them are attending to Istanbul University Conservatoire with our scholarships.
* Educational Courses
In educational courses, some of our young who are open high school student that are continuing to their education by supporting of volunteer university student at Basak.
* Vocational Courses
In Turkey, the children and the young people who have experienced the difficult effects of forced migration and suffering from the lack of social life can not find a good work. As many social excluded groups facing difficulties on a day – to day basis they seek for support. Vocational training facilitates the access of these people to the education system and the labour market. These are efforts that contribute to an increase of empowerment, self esteem and capacities of individuals and groups that have a sustainable impact on improving their own lives.
