Andrew Spath

Dr. Andrew Spath is a Senior Professorial Lecturer in the School of International Service at American University. His teaching and research focus on politics of the Middle East, authoritarianism, protest and repression, research methods, and strategic simulations. He has conducted extensive field research in the Middle East with Fulbright IIE, Fulbright Hays, and Boren fellowships. Professor Spath is Director of Model International Organizations at AU. He co-founded and directs the Model G20 Initiative and oversees the American University International Relations Society (AMIRS) and the top-ranked Model UN team. Dr. Spath specializes in simulation design and implementation, and has consulted for a range of organizations including the World Bank and the National Democratic Institute.
