Creative Space Beirut

A free school for fashion design offering education to youth who lack the resources to pursue an education at increasingly expensive institutions. The initiative promotes equal opportunity into the creative sector and makes the design world accessible to those with vision, flair, and the driving impulse to create. In order to reach self-sustainability, the team has innovated and established a structure of social enterprise -a for-profit ecosystem that aims to sustain and build Creative Space Beirut.

The social enterprise houses four socially-conscious brands (CSB ready-to-wear, Second ST. Roni Helou and CSB-SHOP), all of which are made and sold locally at their flagship store in Beirut Souks; and online through the online store, csb-shop.com.Creative Space Beirut works in the field of gender equality and female empowerment by offering a safe space for those of different backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities.

The students have Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian origins and reside across Lebanon, with some travelling a great distance each day in order to carry out their studies. The ability to be themselves whilst in an educational atmosphere supporting and collaborating with one another allows the students to work to their full potential, eventually graduating to become credible designers within the fashion industry.
