*VM* Becoming a changemaker: Introduction to Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship
A series of Cross-Network Activities has been organized by the Anna Lindh Foundation National Networks of Spain - ASOCIACION DE INNOVACION FORMACION Y EMPLEO PARA EL DESARROLLO SOSTENIBLE - AIFED, Sweden - Centre for capacity building and empowerment and Turkey - System and Generation Association in the Framework of the Anna Lindh Foundation Virtual Marathon for Dialogue in the EuroMed.
This lecture has been directly moderated by the Anna Lindh Foundation Spanish Network with the main aim to address women and youth who want to make a difference in their societies regardless of their current level in the field of social innovation and social entrepreneurship. Whether they are already familiar with the field of social innovation or social entrepreneurship, the lecture is exploring the complex problems that surround us and how to start thinking about solutions.
The lecture will debunk common assumptions around what resources are needed to begin acting as a social innovator. Participants will learn from the numerous examples of social innovations happening all over the world. The lecture includes exploring entrepreneurial initiatives driven by females and problems faced by gender. Within the lecture, a toolbox of resources, programs, and initiatives will be provided to be further used by participants as a follow-up step.
At the end of the lecture, participants will be challenged to get out of their comfort zone and start engaging with the diverse spaces around them. Critical thinking will be encouraged as well and participants will be empowered to form their own approach to social innovation based on their national realities, and they will begin to develop the concepts, mindset, skills, and relationships that will enable them to start and evolve as changemakers.
