The project was organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation National Network member Povod Institute (Slovenia) in the framework of the Anna Lindh Foundation Intercultural Cities Programme.

“InterArts” is an informal group of artists coming from Syria, Algeria, Jordan, Slovenia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina and living in Ljubljana. On 29 November 2021, they performed a collective artwork that reflects on the concepts of the Mediterranean identities: the common challenges and future visions.

The artists:

  • Safa Hasan, painter, an Iraqi citizen who lived in Syria for 10 years and moved to Slovenia in 2013
  • Aber al Gundi, a poet from Syria who moved to Ljubljana around three years ago
  • Noudjoud Derbal, a handcrafter from Algeria who is a resident of Ljubljana
  • Amelisa Eminić, a filmmaker and cultural planner, Slovenia/Bosnia and Herzegovina

The performance is directed by Samar Zughool, an Intercultural trainer and performing artist, Jordanian citizen and resident of Slovenia.
