General Information

The Tunisian Center for social entrepreneurship is a Tunisian association that works under the Tunisian decree law n°88, 2011. It is composed of directors and an executive board. The directors' board is composed of 3 members: a president, a general secretary and a treasurer. The executive board is composed of 16 employees. TCSE manages several projects with budgetary resources available in a year exceeding 1000 000 TND. Our organisation get its funding from different sources like the EU, governments, embassies and international cooperation programs.

Mission and Objectives

Since its creation in 2012, the TCSE has presented itself as an “enabler” of social innovation in Tunisia. The association adopts values ​​that govern its work system, and the conditions of collaboration internally within the team and externally with the partners, beneficiaries, customers and other actors in the ecosystem. The TCSE is a human-centred association which follows an empathetic approach internally on the one hand and collaborates in all transparency and respect with its environment while keeping the mindset of commitment and responsibility towards the cause she defends. In addition, the TCSE aims to make social entrepreneurship a pillar of the Tunisian economy. Its mission is to create a favourable ecosystem for social entrepreneurship and innovation by offering innovative and sustainable solutions to economic and social problems and having an inclusive, holistic and systemic approach that aims to engage all actors and all levels of intervention.

Main Projects / Activities

TCSE works at the centre of the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. Indeed, it develops programs that target a spectrum of beneficiaries at the four levels of interventions. At the Macro level, TCSE works closely with the public institution to contribute to law reforms through research, public policy briefs or advocacy campaigns (eg: Medtown project). At the MESO level, the association provide a wide range of program that supports civil society organisation to develop their services and social impact (eg: SAMIM, RISE, GVA...). At the MICRO level, TCSE provides social entrepreneurs with incubation and acceleration programs to help them develop, sustain and scale up their businesses through making a social and environmental impact and revenue (Trait d'Union, Green Works, Medup...). At the NANO level, the organisation works on spreading awareness about social entrepreneurship through different projects that take different formats ( events, discussion panels, fellowships, exchange programs...)

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

TCSE will contribute with its core competencies in terms of social entrepreneurship. Also, TCSE has a good reputation nationally and confirmed exposure at the international level. So, it will be, definitely, one of the most wanted change actors that can collaborate and connect the different organisations in the network with potential opportunities and alternatives to make impactful change in the region.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

TCSE wants to join the ALF network because there are many intersections when it comes to how we perceive change-making in the community where we work. By joining this network, TCSE will contribute through its core competencies and services in terms of sustainable development, democracy, youth and gender inclusion. Also, TCSE looks for expanding its networks and seeks new international development experiences and collaboration. Indeed, we see that this network can bring us many opportunities to sustain our work and keep serving our community and defending our cause which is social justice for all.
