Tigh Fili(The Poets House) is a company limited by guarantee It employs 2 full time and 1 part time staff. It also employs a number of contract staff for individual projects. The board of directors meet bi – monthly. The annual turnover of Tigh Fili 225,000 euros. The organization is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland, Cork City Council and the National Lottery. It also receives project funding from the Department of Rural, Community and Gaeltacht Affairs, the Department of Justice and the Health Service Executive. Main partners involved in the organization's projects/activities include Poetry Ireland, Cork City Council and the Arts Council of Ireland, Euroecole in Nantes, the Childrens Cultural Centre Belgrade, and primary schools throughout Ireland and Europe.
Mission and Objectives

Tigh Filí is a cultural centre with a particular emphasis on children, the visual arts and literature. 1. It promotes the value of the arts in society and maximises the community’s access to, and participation in, the arts. 2. It provides a creative and nurturing artistic environment for the creation and exhibition of new work by artists of all ages. 3. It promotes intercultural dialogue through the arts by developing regional, national and international partnerships with cultural, educational and artistic organisations working with children, literature and visual art 4. It contributes to the local, national and international cultural policy with regards to literature, visual arts and youth.

Main Projects / Activities

The programme of activities at Tigh Fili has particular emphasis on children, the visual arts and literature. Tigh Filis children's programme is called the Eurochild Project Eurochild publishes an international anthology of poetry and art by primary school children from all over Europe, it organises a childrens festival and cultural exchange in June and runs a poetry outreach programme throughout the year. Tigh Filis literature programme includes book publishing and readings. Each Year Tigh Fili publish 5 poetry titles. These include 3 new titles from previously unpublished emerging writers and 2 anthologies The Cork Literary Review and Eurochild. Poetry readings are also held each month. Each year the organization hosts 12 visual art exhibitions promoting work from emerging local, national and international visual artists.
