General Information
Lebanon Development Union (LDU) is a national non-profit, non-governmental organization recognized by the Lebanese Government and registered at the Ministry of Interior under notification Nb 1378/2010. LDU was founded in 2008 by a union of civil society activists from different sectors and backgrounds enthusiastic about sustainable development.
Mission and Objectives

Mission
LDU is dedicated to invest in the Lebanese civil society development by creating a dynamic platform that unites efforts to bolster women and youth empowerment, foster economic and social entrepreneurship, support local governments and the creative industry. LDU is committed to the promotion and support of Human and LGBT Rights.
Vision
LDU aspires to create an active civil society union in Lebanon and the MENA region.

Main Projects / Activities

LDU offers a range of services for civil society association such as strategic planning, media relations, communication strategies, monitoring and evaluation and mapping.
We also offer a number of training on topics ranging from youth volunteering motivation, media and communications, social media, coalition building, mentoring, networking and mapping, donors relations, strategy building, Internet and computer literacy, etc.
Since 2009, LDU built a track record in curating cultural events in service of the dialogue of culture, heritage preservation, promoted the creative industry, invested in young talents, supported local governments in becoming more transparent and closer to their population, supported women advocacy including supporting women NGOs and women candidates for parliamentary and municipal elections, and advocated for human and LGBT rights with local organizations, international community in Lebanon and international organizations.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We hope to share our expertise notably in supporting youth and advocacy and are willing to work with all partners to advance the dialogue of cultures and the promotion of peace understanding.
