IIDebate is structured as a dynamic organization, boasting a dedicated team of professionals committed to its mission. With a core team of 20 staff members and a network of over 50 partners, IIDebate operates efficiently to achieve its goals. Annually, IIDebate manages a budget primarily sourced from a blend of institutional funding, grants, and individual donations. Its modalities of action encompass diverse projects ranging from seminars and workshops to youth exchanges and scholarship programs. Notable partners include the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), Global Alliance for Media and Gender Equality (GAME), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), whose collaboration enhances IIDebate's impact and outreach initiatives.

Mission and Objectives

The mission of IIDebate is to foster critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills among youth to empower them as active participants in their communities and future leaders of tomorrow. Our objectives include providing comprehensive debate training programs, organizing debates and competitions, facilitating youth-led initiatives, and promoting dialogue and civic engagement. We aim to create a global network of empowered youth who are equipped with the skills and confidence to articulate their ideas, engage in constructive discourse, and advocate for positive change in society. Through our activities, we seek to promote democratic values, respect for diversity, and the development of informed, responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the advancement of their communities and the world at large.

Main Projects / Activities

IIDebate conducts a range of projects and activities aimed at promoting critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills among youth. Our main projects include:

1. Debate Training Workshops: We organize workshops to train students and educators in debate techniques, argumentation, and persuasive speaking.

2. Debate Competitions: We host regional and national debate competitions, providing students with opportunities to showcase their skills and compete against their peers.

3. Youth Forums: We facilitate youth forums and discussion groups where young people can engage in dialogue on important social and political issues.

4. Debate Clubs: We establish and support debate clubs in schools and communities, providing ongoing training and support to club members.

5. Public Speaking Events: We organize public speaking events, such as TEDx-style talks and panel discussions, to provide platforms for young speakers to share their ideas.

6. International Exchanges: We facilitate international exchanges and collaborations between youth from different countries, fostering cross-cultural understanding and cooperation.

7. Research and Advocacy: We conduct research on debate education and advocacy efforts to promote the integration of debate programs into educational curricula.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

IIDebate can contribute to the Network of Anna Lindh Foundation in our country by:

1. Organizing Debate Workshops: We can conduct debate workshops focused on intercultural dialogue, where participants can engage in constructive discussions on topics related to cultural diversity, tolerance, and mutual understanding.

2. Hosting Intercultural Debate Competitions: We can organize intercultural debate competitions that bring together participants from diverse backgrounds to discuss and debate issues relevant to intercultural dialogue and cooperation.

3. Collaborating on Youth Forums: We can collaborate with the Anna Lindh Foundation to organize youth forums and discussion panels that provide platforms for young people to share their perspectives and experiences on cultural diversity and social inclusion.

4. Implementing Exchange Programs: We can develop exchange programs that facilitate cultural exchanges between youth from different communities, promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

5. Supporting Research and Advocacy: We can contribute to research initiatives and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue and combating stereotypes and prejudices in society.
