Diyarbakır Primary School

Our institution is a primary school that aims to give the general culture and knowledge to pupils ages between 7 and 14.We have a student counselor and she gives our pupils the psychological supports and work with the students who have special needs.She works with them and prepare suitable plans for them and share it with other teachers in order to integrate them to the education.We aim to increase the compulsory education period to 12 years and to expand the target population in continuous education so that all of the society will be included.While trying to work for this aims we have some difficulties because of our pupils and their families socio-economical and psychological backgrounds.As it is known, the city of Diyarbakır which is in South-east Anotolian Region, get lots of internal migration and rural exodus from the rural areas around the region.One of the problem that the migrations cause is the areas which has problems because of migration.Our institution is located in a socio-economically disadvantaged area, so generally our students have fewer opportunities such as geographically obstacles, economical, social and educational obstacles.Our pupils parents generally have lack of education such as having many children so we have some problems about them and want to decrease the problems and give them both a better education and psychological support as much as possible.
