General Information
The Centre for Arab and Middle Eastern Studies at the American University of Beirut is a multi-disciplinary program in Middle East studies. CAMES offers the MA degree for a two-year course of study which requires the successful defence of a thesis. Currently about 45 graduate students are enrolled in the program.
The MA program relies on faculty from affiliated departments at AUB. Funding draws on the resources of the University. The Centre also provides basic research affiliation for scholars conducting research in Lebanon.

CAMES undertakes occasional projects, such as conferences, often working in collaboration with other programs at AUB or other research organizations in Beirut.
