ARCPA has set its mission to “work with communities that face marginalization in Lebanon in building on their strengths, and documenting and disseminating their empowering experiences and cultural contributions". Stemming from its work in the arts, ARCPA also produces learning and creative resources by and for children and youth.
Although ARCPA was registered in 1990, its founders have been implementing activities for the benefit of children and youth well before the association took on a formally registered structure. Moreover, since its establishment, creativity, media work and resource productions have been ARCPA's main areas of expertise. ARCPA’s staff has a long experience in organizing cultural and educational events and activities. ARCPA also utilizes the voluntary efforts of experts in child and youth development, creative acts therapy, integral learning, multi-media, movie production, and art practitioners from around the world.
Yearly, ARCPA implements a number of projects to fulfill its mission. Among its projects are a Summer Encounter that works to enhance the capacity of NGO, CSO, and youth staff members working with children and youth; a Spring Festival that promotes the learning and creative expression of Palestinian and Lebanese children; an International Film Festival that compiles films on youth experiences and views from all over the world and tours areas in Lebanon, enriching the audience’s exposure; and a media intervention that builds the capacity of youth in film making as a means to express themselves freely and supports them to produce films that describe their realities and advocate their concerns.
