Mission and Objectives

PICD aims at developing the educational and quantitative level of the Palestinian journalists and Media, and attempts to cultivate the Palestinian experiences and qualifications in the local media organizations.
Objectives :
1-Prmoting the respect of freedom of expression, and guarantee the right of free opinions and beliefs for all
2-strengthen the public's right to know, the right of access to information, and broadcast it.
3-Follow up the violations against the freedom of expression and opinion, and the freedom of journalism, which guaranteed in the law especially the Intellectual property.
4-Respect the principles of human rights, and enhance it within media.
5-promote the values of tolerance, brotherhood and equality among people, and keeping the community.
6-work on the development of vocational and raise the level of professionalism, and enhance the independence of the Palestinian press, and development, to contribute to building a free and democratic society.

General Information
Although LAYLAC was established in 2005 but it has limited funding for its activities and programs. LAYLAC is managed by a voluntary board of nine people from Bethlehem area while it has 45 members selected for its general assembly. It focuses on building the capacities of youth and invest them for community development issues, concerns and needs through leadership development, economic development, voluntarism, social advocacy and academic / vocational development

General Information
PYALARA has two main departments: Media & Well-Being. Each department has its head and a number of coordinators. The administrative staff include director general, accountant, financial consultant, executive secretary and a procurement officer. Besides we have two office managers one in Nablua and another in Gaza. The total number of employees is 25 (14 full time and 11 part-time) The overall budget of PYALARA varies from one year to another depending on the number of projects. The budget for the year 2005 has reached half a million dollar. We receive funds from a number of donors (depending on type of projects). Funders include, UNICEF, The European Commission, Aus Aid, Canada fund, Cordaid and Save the Children. In its work, PYALARA cooperates with related Palestinian ministries namely the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sport, UNRWA educational department and with a number of schools..
Mission and Objectives

PYALARA’s mission is to activate and empower young Palestinians between the ages of 13 and 25 and equip them with the necessary skills, information and techniques that would enable them to address their issues, needs and rights and thus contribute towards democratic nation building. Our main objectives include firstly; developing a new culture of independent and specialized media for young Palestinians and secondly, empowering young Palestinians and equipping them with basic life skills that lead to a healthy lifestyle and encourage them to play a constructive role in the society. Furthermore, PYALARA aims at building bridges of communication between Palestinian youth and their counterparts around the world.

Main Projects / Activities

PYALARA's main activities are grouped into three programs: the development and production of specialized youth media (youth newspaper and TV programs) on the one hand, and the projects which advance the well-being of Palestinian youth by focusing on the peer-to-peer approach, on the other. Both programs serve and support each other. In addition to that, PYALARA’s third program focuses on youth development of regional and international communication networks with their peers to activate intercultural dialogue and build interactive channels of communication.

Society of women graduates in Gaza strip is non-governmental and non-profit organization, established in Gaza in 1974. The society basically works on developing and empowering the women graduates' potentials in Palestine, which effects on them, their families and the Palestinian society in general positively.

Mission and Objectives

Mission of SWG: The Society of Women Graduates in the Gaza Strip is a non-governmental, non-profit independent organization that aims to empower women university graduates through capacity building development programs, skill rehabilitation, education, awareness-raising, job placement and advocacy for their rights by creating local, regional and international partnerships SWG does its effort to achieve its objectives which are : 1) Gathering  the educated women power in Gaza Strip.   2) Creating  job opportunities for the un-employed women graduates . 3) Encouraging  women graduates  on thinking and scientific research. 4) Orienting women graduates in cultural, social and legal fields . 5) Encouraging women graduates to spend their leisure time in constructive Entertainment activities. 6) Relief the families of needy women graduates.  

Main Projects / Activities

  The Society provide its services to the target group through : - The training Unit. - women graduates Cultural Forum. - The Computer  Center. - The Projects Unit. - The Employment and Assistance Unit. - The library.   1. Women Graduates cultural forum: every Saturday, a meeting is conducted in the forum by a number of professors from different associations in different topics include: Prepare for the labour market, health and Legal awareness, educational, hygienic, social, psychological, gender and culture.. etc. these topics are identified based on the needs of women graduates. Each year more than 1200 women graduates  participate and attend  the meetings which conduct in the forum. 2. Computer center : Through the computer center SWG aim to serves the women graduates and develop her skills and help her to cope with the information revolution and the technological progress. Recently, 6 training courses on ICDL for 120 fresh women graduates  and a training program for 10 fresh women graduates on IT  were completed. 3. Training unit: In this unit we conducting short training programs does not exceed a period of three months in different fields and getting use of the experts and specialists. Recently, a training course entitled Early detection of mental disorders was completed for 15 women graduates specialty psychology and social service. Also, a set of workshops on domestic violence awareness-raising in the Community were completed by participating 20 women graduates. The aim of these workshops was to  empower the capacities of these women  so they can exercise freedom of choice and become their own best advocates . Currently, a training course on French  language for 15 women graduates is conducted. SWG has already finished  project of Emergency Psychosocial Programme for Children and Parents After war 2014 which helped in providing psychological support sessions for the 4800 children and their parents after 2014 war through 40 qualified female psychologists. This Project funded by Pontifical Mission. Currently, SWG implements project of Creation of temporary Job Opportunities for 90 female graduates from  the Families  Who Had Their Homes Totally Destroyed As Result of Gaza Assault 2014 . This project funded by Welfare Association.  .Furthermore, SWG is now in partnership with Civil Society Program (CSP)  in GIZ

The Society of Women Graduates (SWG) is one of the leading non-governmental organizations in the field of women graduates empowerment across the Gaza Strip.  SWG thrives to improve qualities of lives of women graduates who face double marginalization and enable them to actively play a positive role in the development of Palestinian community.    The board of director of SWG consists of 9 elected members all of them women graduates; and it has a high qualified staff with experiences consists of: (4 core staff, 10 employees, 20 Volunteers). SWG often depends on funding projects and also has other sources of funding but these sources are not enough for covering the operating expensive as members fees, hall rent and educational center's revenue. SWG has a wide spread network and partnerships with international donors such: GIZ, UNDP, UNRWA, UNICEF, Qatar Charity, Welfare association, Islamic Relief Worldwide, Euro-med centre, Pal Think and other actors.

SWG can contribute with its knowledge and experiences as it has a general assembly represents the steering body of SWG priorities of interventions, the # of memberships at the general assembly are + 6,000 members all of them women graduates from different ages, most of them between 22-35 years. The general assembly of the Society of Women Graduates have an effective role in identify concerns, needs and priorities; women graduates are consulted in designing interventions and proposed projects in order to maintain satisfaction of them.

The administrative structure of the organization consists of the directorship Board, three full time employed graduates and ten volunteer graduates. The organization was funded by the president office in the previous. Other sources of fund obtained from the membership fees, computer training courses fees and projects funded by supporting sides. Main partners involved in the organization's projects/activities are Small Grants Program for U. N. D. P., the Canadian Fund in Ramallah, Catholic Relief, and collaboration institute.

Mission and Objectives

TDP wants drama, theatre, and creative activities to be a regular part of the lives of young people in Palestine, so that they can find their individual voice, their sense of self, and discover their creative life; in stimulating these activities TDP aims to provide the foundation for a peaceful development of Palestine, one with respect for human (children’s) rights and civil society. TDP tries to realize this by working with the formal education systems and local organizations working with and for children and young people.

Main Projects / Activities

Acting and drama training for young Gaza adults (m/f), 3-year curricula.
Outreach to 35,000 under-privilidged children in marginalized areas
Productions of theatre plays, drama projects, video animation projects, all for children and youth.
Community awareness projects with teachers and parents.
International exchange with Arab and European partners.
Academic research for measuring the effect and impact of drama in Palestine (with European DICE network)

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

TDP is the organization at the base of all drama and theatre development in Gaza. TDP contributes a vast outreach program (reaching 35,000 Gaza children and youngsters annually) as well as a community theatre and drama training center to the arts in Palestine. TDP creates youth theatre satellites all over Palestine. Its youngest satellites, created after years of intensive training and drama practice are: Yes Theatre, Hebron, and Pocket Theatre, East Jerusalem, Beit Qandil, Tulkarem. TDP can offer lectures and consultancies for cultural exchange, network building, drama education, community theatre, and theatre (incl artistic) management.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Our artistic director, Mr Jan Willems, is the exaequo-winner of the ALF Euromedalex annual award in 2007. We thought we were member since the year 2005 but we cannot find our membership in the partners list.
Theatre Day Productions (TDP) is looking for partnerships with other mediterranean partners in art for joint artistic intervention and exchange. TDP can offer lectures and consultancies for cultural exchange, network building, drama education, community theatre, and theatre (incl artistic) management
