Bulgarie

As part of the program “Model Schools”, led by the foundation Teach for Bulgaria, the team of teachers from St. St. Cyril and Methodius Primary School - Haskovo, Bulgaria, took part in a yearly meeting titled “Metamorphosis in Education”. The meeting took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 29th and 30th June 2024, where teachers from both “Model Schools” and “A New Way of Teaching” participated.

The aim of the meeting was to exchange ideas and educational experiences with colleagues, who are sharing a common goal – the belief that every child in Bulgaria should have access to quality education, regardless of their place of living or the income of their parental figures. The path to reaching this goal is much easier when one has like-minded people around. Teaching by example is probably one of the most efficient teaching methods by far and teachers should firstly focus on the development of their own social-emotional skills and then implement them in class.

It is a process and sharing similar visions for the future with colleagues from all around the country is a privilege. Thus, teachers unify their vision for the future development of education in Bulgaria. Small steps are definitely better than staying still!
