Mission and Objectives

The Egyptian Democratic Institute: An independent political research organization founded by a group of young Egyptians who are interested in the overall social work, politically active and who believe in the importance of youth's role in reform,change and development of their beloved nation Egypt . Founders of the Institute aim to achieve the following through the activities and events of the Institute : 1. Objective and effective consolidation of the value of democracy assuring that it is the way to achieve the goals and aspirations and dreams of the Egyptians towards progress, stability and prosperity . 2. The concept of deepening the real democracy - rolling of the majority while preserving the rights of the minority- to be lived and as a way of life as an effective mechanism for solving problems in all areas of political and social life . 3. Clarifying that the absence of democracy (as a real concept and effective exercise) from our lives is the direct cause of the spread of corruption in all aspects of life in Egypt . 4. Seeking to raise awareness of the need to establish objective criteria for the selection of candidates, including how to differentiate between them on the basis of the programs and ideas, not on the basis of personal interests and benefits . 5. Confirm that all Egyptians are equal before the law and all of them have the right to exercise their political rights both in nomination and in election, and that the differentiation among the Egyptians is based on the experiences a candidate can bestow to his country.

The Council's Objectives
- To facilitate closer contacts and ties between Egypt and Europe, and build goodwill and better fellowship for members around the region;
- To provide the appropriate forum for discussion, exchange of viewpoints and build a network of communication on different issues of mutual interest;
- To develop a comprehensive vision, a sophisticated data base, a specialised library and vibrant web-site on various spheres of business;
- To provide workable mechanisms for the Council's members to have immediate access to governmental departments, non-governmental organisations and specialised agencies in Egypt and all over Europe;
- To encourage European and Egyptian corporations to identify niche markets in which to operate; providing exporters and importers with technical, authentic and detailed information that they may need to enter such markets;
- To offer an appropriate platform for notable visiting speakers from Europe, and facilitate promotion visits of Egyptians to Europe;
- To help technological cooperation, and facilitate training, retraining with the European Union
- To act as a vehicle to raise members' awareness of different European development programmes and opportunities;
- To promote a closer relationship and networking between civil society organisations in Egypt and Europe;

The Egyptian Humanitarian Relief and Rehabilitation Organization (HRRO) is a registered non-governmental organization. HRRO aims at helping and empowering the vulnerable and most afflicted people and laying a strong base for more peaceful and tolerant world. HRRO is a humanitarian focused type of organization. In other words, human is our means and end for a better life for all human beings. HRRO has a highly reputable Board of Trusties that brings together a great deal of experience in various disciplines, including the diplomatic, legislative, business and social development field. HRRO has a highly qualified staff, who capably manage and support in the implementation of a variety of projects and interventions. The HRRO team includes experienced development and human rights administrators with past experience working in the field in governmental and non-governmental organizations and at the international level .

General Information
According to law No. 94 of 2003 and abiding by the Paris principles Egypt has established A National institution called "The National Council for Human Rights “, under the auspices of the Shoura Council, which was established to further the protection, set the values, raise the awareness, and ensure the observance of Human Rights. The Council consists of 25 board members, has a legal personality, its headquarters in Cairo, and has the authority to establish branches and offices in other Governorates. The council independently performs its duties in disseminating Human Rights and raising its awareness. The council has a sufficient numbers of competent employees in addition to experts and professionals, to perform its duties and functions
Mission and Objectives

1. Put a national plan to enhancement, to develop the protection of human rights in Egypt, and to suggest the means by which to achieve this plan.
2. To provide suggestions and recommendations to the specialized bodies in order to support, protect, and develop human rights.
3. Express opinions, views, suggestions, and recommendations for the issues introduced or referred to it by the authorities and specialized bodies for matters related to the strengthening and protection of human rights.
4. Receipt the complaints in the field of human rights, to study and raise them to the authorities and specialized bodies, and to follow up with them. Also to spread awareness to individuals of the legal procedures that should be followed and to assist them in the implementation of these procedures or their settlement with the associated bodies.
5. Follow up with the implementation of the international agreements and conventions related to human rights. Also to provide the associated bodies with the necessary suggestions, recommendations, and feedback for safety implementation.
6. Cooperate with international organizations and bodies interested in human rights which contribute to achieving the goals of the Council and developing its relations.
7. Participate with the Egyptian delegates in the forums, meetings of the regional and international organizations interested in human rights.
8. Contribute opinions in order to prepare reports that the state is obliged to provide periodically to the committees and organs of human rights implementation to the international agreements and response to their queries.
9. coordinate with the state institutions interested in human rights and to cooperate with them in this field; cooperation include working with the National Council for Women, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood and other groups.
10. Spread the human rights culture and concepts, making sure that the citizens are aware of them. To get assistance from the institutions and organs specialized in education, media, and culture.
11. Organize conferences, sessions, and round-table discussions on issues related to human rights.
12. Provide necessary suggestions to support technical and institutional capabilities in the field of human rights including technical preparation and trainings of employees in state institutions related to freedom and social, economic, and cultural rights in order to improve their efficiency.
13. Publish periodic reviews related to the Council's goals and missions.
14. Publish reports about the situations and developments of Egypt's efforts in the field of human rights on both a government and national level

The Egyptian Network of the Anna lindh  Foundation has organized a Multi country debate on the theme of Youth , dialogue and digital Entrepreneurship, The Motion of the debate was titled “ Digitalizing  businesses must be obligatory after the Covid-19 pandemic era in Euro-Med Region “.

The Debate tackled the evolving technologies which provide new opportunities to connect small businesses to the customers online with rising concerns of cybersecurity breaches and downsizing of employees who will be replaced by such powerful transformation. In addition of the Covid-19 pandemic circumstances which forced millions around the world to stay in quarantine and work from home.

The debaters from Egypt, Macedonia, Croatia and Poland along with a diverse audience from all around the EuroMed region. The debate format provided a very good platform for two teams to represent two different point of views supported with arguments and facts, Moreover offering recommendations and solutions to such a controversial topics.

The debaters had reached a common ground that the digitalizing of Businesses are crucially important, but it needs to be implemented on several phases with different tools & methodologies. Moreover, introducing a hybrid system which can fit all people and support places which can’t switch to a technological form of a business model

General Information

The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue (FDHRD) is an Egyptian NGO registered with No. 6337. It consists of 11 employees divided between administrative work and its five main programmes. FDHRD works with three main partners; Egyptian Trade Union Federation in Egypt, Chab Dai in Cambodia and The Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women in Thailand. FDHRD receives its funding, managed by its board of trustees, from grants and the USAID. FDHRD strives to reach out to all forms of social and cultural backgrounds to educate and develop broader concepts of human rights, civil rights and social cohesion through workshops and legal aid. Furthermore, FDHRD reports on the massive violations of human rights that frequently occur during conflicts, and their implications for the development, safety and protection of local communities. It also seeks to give a voice to the Egyptian diaspora who have been subject to human rights violations.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to ensure that development is community-led and that it respects, protects and fulfills human rights. We do so by ensuring that communities and individuals have the information, power and resources to determine their own development paths and priorities and to hold institutions, governments, and other actors accountable for the actions on people. Thus, we aim to establish an open dialogue on development and human rights on a national and international level.

FDHRD seeks to raise awareness for non-governmental and civil society organisations in different governorates across Egypt, in order to play a pivotal role in containing humanitarian issues ad strengthen civic values.

Main Projects / Activities

The organisation works on a number of programmes through publishing research papers and holding workshops and seminars:

First: The Freedom of Speech and Expression Programme
The programme seeks to create opportunities for direct communication between policy makers and target groups (by creating a link between the two parties).

Second: Integrity and Transparency Programme
The programme seeks to promote the principles of integrity, transparency and responsibility to achieve the proposed objectives and policies to combat corruption.

Third: Counter-terrorism Watch Program
The Counter-Terrorism Watch seeks to monitor, follow up and confront extremist ideas and ideologies adopted by terrorist groups of all kinds. The programme seeks to use the social networking site to create awareness about terrorist issues.

Fourth: The Egyptians Abroad Programme
The programme works to document all violations and problems faced by Egyptians in Arab and European countries and the United States of America.

The friends of life is the first NGO for PLHA-people living with HIV/AIDS-representing 67% of the staff(4 of 6), with a budget 200.000 LE funded by NAMRU3-Naval American Medical Researches Unit 3, UNAIDS, WAC- World AIDS Campaign ,and UNICEF. Conducting support group meetings and home based care for PLHA. Conducting awareness campaigns among youth about HIV/AIDS fundamentals and modes of transmission. Providing PLHA-people living with HIV/AIDS -with all kinds of support(psychological, social, medical,and legal)
Our objectives:
Improving the quality of life for PLHA;
Providing PLHA with care, support and alternative approaches;
Activating the role of PLHA in community as they themselves are able to improve health and care services and defend their rights as a human rights to live without stigma and discrimination, because PLHA are the most marginalized, and stigmatized populations;
Raising awareness among youth in general and MARPs - most at risk populations - in particular without any discrimination based on religion, race, gender or color;
The empowerment of PLHA in general and infected woman in particular to enable her to defend her rights and her children's rights;
Reducing stigma and discrimination by correcting misconceptions and raising right awareness among the different populations of community.
