Le site www.babelmed.net édite une revue de culture et politique en Méditerranée grâce à un réseau de correspondants méditerranéens sélectionnés pour leur indépendance et leur connaissance des milieux culturels. Son nom évoque la Méditerranée “med” et sa diversité culturelle et linguistique“babel” : les articles sont en français, anglais, arabe, et parfois en italien, espagnol... ;“bab”, porte en arabe, donne l’idée d’une ouverture sur l’ailleurs. L’objectif éditorial est de décloisonner les cultures nationales méditerranéennes : le travail de concertation du réseau permet de cerner les grandes problématiques transversales à la Méditerranée et de les traiter dans une dynamique de confrontation.

Cette année, le Badaboum Théâtre organise avec plusieurs associations un festival autour de la culture Tsigane : Latcho Divano, destiné à être reconduit annuellement.
Parallèlement, le Badaboum organise des ateliers de cirque et de théâtre auprès de jeunes enfants d'origine gitane et Rom à Marseille.

Trans-Maghreb est une plateforme de formation, de réalisation et de productions audiovisuelles.
Grâce à la présence d’intervenants professionnels, nous voulons offrir à de jeunes algériens, marocains et tunisiens un savoir-faire et des outils techniques contemporains leur permettant l'acquisition d’une insertion professionnelle.

Berdahi's projects evolve around the performing body and its intercultural and interdisciplinary connections. Berdahi's work aims to be accessible to every audience, with a focus on under-represented, minority and refugee groups. Berdahi often presents work outdoors, away from the theatre building, in order to reach audiences that are not necessarily in touch with the performing arts. Using dance, music and text, often implementing a multitude of languages, Berdahi transmits simple yet well researched messages. Creating works in relation to science, archive research and literature, Berdahi ventures into collaborations beyond the French borders and has presented its work in England, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Turkey. The company works equally with professional performers or complete beginners. Choreographer Mairi Pardalaki often conducts workshops with young refugees from various backgrounds in France and the Paris suburbs. More specifically, Berdahi has created: “Piccole Marquisakis” is a coming-of-age dance-theatre piece about the tragicomic encounter of three young girls coming from France, Italy and Greece. The Neutrino Passoire” is an arts & science performance initiated with physicist Dr. Kostas Nikolopoulos of the University of Birmingham. Merging dance and particle physics, the performance narrates in a simple way the story of the neutrino particle, thus reaching non-scientific audiences. For his work on "The Neutrino Passoire", Kostas Nikolopoulos was awarded the 2020 Public Engagement with Research Award from the European Research Council. "The Strange Love” is a performance created alongside cellist Gaspar Claus, narrating the love story of a horse and a poplar tree. A dance-theater play for a public of all ages, based on the homonymous book by Christos Boulotis, “The Strange Love” uses text, dance and a musical theme of the 15th century called “Folia” to narrate how two beings from completely different worlds deeply understand each other. "i wake up" is a short feminist film made in Istanbul, produced by the "Be Mobile Create Together" residency. Poetry meets performance, coming together on screen through images in stop-motion. "Bam! Charge" is a short arts & science performance co-created and performed with a group of physicists, talking about plasma, the 4th state of matter. "Bam! Charge" uses artificial intelligence captors to create its original music score. It is co-produced with Sorbonne University. "Kolye de Perles" is Berdahi's upcoming project for 2023. It is a bilingual Greek-Turkish performance inspired by 19th century archives. It has received mobility funding from the "i-Portunus" European grant. Berdahi's second upcoming project for 2023 is co-produced by Paris 8 University and includes the creation of a performance with a young group of refugee students at Raymond Poincaré college in La Courneuve.

Our principal aim is the volunteer management and project development of BeWelcome, a community - platform which promotes hospitality and cultural exchange.

In order to reach this aim we have four objectives:

1) to establish a democratic work environment

We want to benefit from the advantages of a democratic organisation as democracy guarantees many of our organisational values. To make sure the democracy works well we want to follow the principle of subsidiarity: discussions, decisions and actions are done on organizational levels only as high as necessary but as low as possible, i.e. individuals first, then teams, then Board of Directors (BoD), then General Assembly (GA). So the best way to describe our structure is neither a representative nor a basic democracy, but a participative one.

2) to build a transparent organisation

For active volunteer contribution we want to be as transparent as possible. For this we want to make organisational data such as our statutes, the general assembly minutes and our financial statement publicly available. We will openly communicate with you through this wiki page (our library), the forum (our discussion place), news blogs and whatever you suggest us to do.

3) to encourage active member participation

Without our members we are nothing. They are the reason why this organisation exists. We are aware of that and want to show you the benefits of volunteer participation. We want to support and welcome all kinds of volunteers; some very idealistic, others more pragmatic and work oriented.

4) to build a reliable legal and organisational structure

It is important that our members and volunteers can freely contribute without having to worry about legal issues or getting lost in the organisational structure. Our last objective therefore is to provide the legally secure workplace and encourage you not only to understand the different organisational bodies but also to participate in them - if you want.
