General Information
IYAC Bulgaria is a non-governmental non-profit organization, based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Our youth workers are volunteers, so we don't have employed staff. Our budgetary resources come mainly from membership subscriptions and donations. Amongst our main activities is organizing and participating in international exchanges and seminars. Our main partners in the organization's activities are a few local NGOs with similar objectives, who support us in organizing seminars, and of course our international partners.

IYAC's main aim is to promote the idea of volunteering amongst the youth .Our target group are the open-minded environmentally awared young people here, in Sofia

Main Projects / Activities

Amongst our main projects and activities I should single out the fact that we regularly organise seminars and other events in the University of National and World Economy and we're proud to co-organise the "Let's clean Bulgaria in a day" campaign.

Three board members, no staff directly employed as yet. In partnership with Balkan Agency For Sustainable Development, Priateli (VT). Privately funded to date, now actively seeking operational and project grants to fund trans-national and local projects aiming to increase and enhance social and economic empowerment at an individual and community level. English owned NGO (three partners), working with various organisations and individuals bringing a range of skills and experience to develop projects eligible for EU, and other, funding in the areas of diversity, equality and social justice, culture, rural and urban regeneration, sustainable development, ecology and the environment and s both locally and internationally.
Mission and Objectives

Promote the sharing of best practice with regard to equality, diversity, lifelong learning, environmental awareness, sustainable economic growth and independence;
Enable disadvantaged individuals in becoming socially and economically independent;
Initiate social and private enterprise in disadvantaged areas through promotion of good business practice resulting in sustainable economic activity and growth;
Engage in social and structural projects to support and assist social and private enterprise in disadvantaged areas through promotion of good business practice;
Support and promote best management practice in order to facilitate and enable sustainable economic growth through business excellence.
Partnership with other NGOs, charities and private enterprises to develop networks and enable objectives;
Realising social and structural projects for the benefit of individuals and legal entities in becoming socially and economically independent;

Main Projects / Activities

To date, assisting and enabling the activities of Priateli (VT) and building a network of international and local partners in the cultural, social, business excellence and rural regeneration fields. Future projects include rural ecological/cultural centre, urban leisure facilities and international cultural exchange.

General Information
The Jewish-Bulgarian Friendship Foundation aims at providing knowledge and sensitivity to the past by organizing a variety of cultural and educational events. Its main focus is to stress on the universal messages of the historical lessons stemming from the tragedy of Holocaust and the dramatic rescue of the Bulgarian Jews and other rescue cases. A special focus of the Foundation’s activities is the promotion of knowledge about the positive example of Bulgarians and Jews living together for centuries in peace.
Mission and Objectives

The main objective of the Jewish-Bulgarian Friendship Foundation is the remembrance and understanding of the common history of both nations. Most of its activities are focused on strengthening of the civil society and preserving the tolerance not only as legacy but as a standard for intercultural dialogue.
The strategy of the Foundation is the gradual development of a Jews and Bulgarians Museum in the capital city Sofia. It would eventually present in the form of real and virtual reality the historical lessons captured within a permanent and a traveling exposition. In parallel, the Museum would also have its own training programs in the sphere of Jewish-Bulgarian historical relations. The main target groups of the Foundation are the younger generations, teachers (training of trainers), the general Bulgarian as well as foreign public.

Main Projects / Activities

The Foundation has developed its own publishing policy which includes the production of books of documents, teaching, training and conference papers and materials. The Foundation organizes discussions, training sessions, conferences and exhibitions.
The following projects are among the more significant results of the Foundation’s activities so far:
Legacies for the Future: Prevention of Anti-Semitism and Xenophobia among High School Students (educational project supported by the Democracy Commission small grants program of the US Embassy in Bulgaria); The Power of Civil Society in a time of Genocide: Proceedings of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church on the Rescue of the Bulgarian Jews 1940-1944 (a documentary book supported by B'Nai B'Rith International); Mobile Exposition "The Power of the Civil Society - the Story of the Rescue of the Bulgarian Jews" (supported by the State Institute до Culture of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bulgaria); Educational training “Living Together, Standing Together” in a partnership with Centropa-Austria.

Foundation “July Jazz” was founded in 2006 to support and promote cultural dialogue and relationships through various forms of art and communication. Working hard to create a new standard in the cultural life outside the capital city by establishing a more unconventional author’s presentation of new concepts and innovative projects not only in music but also in theater, cinema, arts in general.
The Foundation is an author and organizer of several events, which won a place in the cultural calendar of our country and constantly improving world¬wide.
Main area of activity - the Rhodope Mountains, central southeastern region.
Rhodope with a stretch of 27 516 km2, one of the biggest region in area of Bulgaria and it is composed by six provinces: Pazardjik, Plovdiv, Smolyan, Haskovo, Stara Zagora and Kurdjali, with 69 municipals.
It occupies the 24,8 % of all Bulgarian country with 1 944 382 habitants, two mainly religions: Christians and Muslims.

Main Projects / Activities

The Foundation is an author and organizer of several events, which won a place in the cultural calendar of our country and constantly improving world¬wide:
- “International Ethno-Jazz Festival “July Jazz Smolyan”, 5 editions by now;
- “Perelik - pure jazz” - acoustic concert on the second highest peak in the Rhodope Mountains (2188 m) - 3 editions;
- “Workshop for small “big” people” - children art camp, 3 editions (program Culture 2007-2013 at EU);

General Information
Our organization is a nonprofit public benefit organization. Association has seven members, a board of 3 people and 15 volunteer in youth club. When we are working on a project, we attract more volunteers for project. Our organization is open for everybody, who is interested in our work and wants to help in a way. We have many partner organizations at home and abroad. The association has staff: two psychologists, two lawyers, three social workers, one technical assistant. Within one year of the organization's budget is different, ranging from € 15,000 to € 30,000 depending on the projects we are working on. Main Projects / Activities

Our main work is the problem of domestic violence:
- victims of domestic vilence of Municipality of Dupnitsa and its region - we provide psychological and legal advice to victims, taking lawsuits by the Law for protection against domestic violence, social mediation, telephone hotline, crisis accommodation center.
- representatives of interested institutions - representatives of Regional Police Department, the Court, the prosecutor’s office, departments “Child protection”, lawyers and the local authorities. The main goal of work with them is creating the network and guarantee fast and timely interference in cases of domestic violence.
- representatives of informal women’s groups. The main goal of work with this target group is prevention. On base of trainings we give them information about forms of domestic violence, psychological aspects of the victim and violator, where and how victims can seek help, what are the consequences for children which are eyewitness of violence, Bulgarian legislation.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Our team will contribute its experience with work in human rights, gender education and gender equality, youth work, prevention of problems related to human rights, institutional partnerships, networking between institutions and organizations. Our organization works for 10 years and has extensive experience on these topics. We believe that shared experience is very important for the good work and for the build up on results already achieved.

The Anna Lindh Foundation facilitates and supports the action of civil society of the Euro-Mediterranean Region in priority fields which affects the capacity for individuals and groups to share values and live together. The Foundation’s programme is focused on activities in fields which are essential for human and social dialogue: Education and Youth; Culture and Arts; Peace and Co-existence; Values, Religion and Spirituality; Cities and Migration; Media. General Information
Krug started as a non-formal structure (1998-2001) and was transformed into NGO in 2002.It is run by a circle of young people from Kardzhali and Sofia, working in the field of art on both professional and voluntary level. Big part of activities is based on the two contracts for co-operation between Municipality Kardzhali and Krug in the field of culture and art for the period 2002-2013. The transformation of the old city gallery into an Art Center and of the 100 years old school building in Duzhdovnitsa village, inhabited only by the Turkish minority, into an European Cultural House (subject of the contracts) is the equivalent of the development of an art "zones" network for partnership with partners from Balkan and Mediterranean regions and EU countries. Budgetary resources available in a year: average 44 000 – 50000 euro. Staff: 2 at a full time, 7 at a part time, 27 volunteers.
Mission and Objectives

Krug aims to investigate and to provide new art zones, including art village development, to bring young artists and poets together, to improve international relations between youngsters, to promote good art practices, addressing young people and to develop greater understanding of the creative process amongst communities across Europe and the Balkans. Since 1998 we have worked together with Dutch, Macedonian, Japanese, Swiss, Italian, German, Czech, Greek, and Turkish organizations and individual young artists.

General Information

Magna Silva Association has 3 employees employed on a civil contract. We have 8 volunteers who help with various activities. The organization's budget for 2023 is 18,500 euros. Sources of funding – European programs, America for Bulgaria Foundation, Bulgarian Fund for Women, Ministry of Culture. The association organizes exhibitions, trainings, art residencies, etc. Main partners: municipalities, community centers, galleries, schools, cultural institutions.

Mission and Objectives

Mission Implementation of initiatives in the field of culture, art, education, environmental protection, social and ethnic integration, tourism. Objectives 1. Promotion of Bulgarian culture, history, art. 2. Restoring ancestral memory and affirming the spiritual values of civil society, with an emphasis on the Magna Silva Bulgarica region. Revival and preservation of Bulgarian national traditions, holidays and spiritual values, folk and historical memory. 3. Increasing public awareness and commitment to respecting nature and sustainable development; environmental education. 4. Protection and restoration of the environment. 5. Stimulating the development of tourism with an emphasis on alternative tourism. 6. Confirmation of the association as an equal and legitimate partner of the public authorities in making decisions for the development and promotion of education, culture, spiritual values, civil society. 7. Protection of human rights. 8. Development of cultural tourism as a means of getting to know different communities, for the expression of regional identity and diversity, for integration into the pan-European cultural space. 9. Main Projects / Activities

Association Magna Silva has a mission to culture and art, with a priority to the fine arts, combining them with modern forms such as performances, musical events. Some of the organized exhibitions are collective, as a way to carry out a cultural dialogue and gather artists working with different means of expression - painting, sculpture, photography, conceptual arts. From 14.10.2022 to 30.04.2023, the Magna Silva Association implemented a PEACEFUL TERRITORY project, financed by the Ministry of Culture under contract No. RD 11-06-336, with the participation of female artists from Ukraine, dedicated to the Eternal Clash of Peace and War, of tolerance and violence. The event was widely covered in numerous national electronic print and social media. The objectives of the project were: - Stimulating the creative development of young authors, authors in the middle stage of professional development and unknown authors who have a civil position. - Encouraging the development, renewal and enrichment of cultural life in a sparsely populated and remote area from large urban centers by organizing and promoting cultural events. - Attracting new audiences living in an area far from large urban centers - Creation of works of art of various genres - Provoking audience perceptions through the multiplying impact of several arts – fine, performance art that blurs the line between performer and audience, and film that documents and preserves all these otherwise ephemeral events. - Provoking civil positions in artists and audiences, including through the art of young Ukrainian artists - an inside look at war as the antithesis of peace. - Development and strengthening of the association's capacity to organize cultural events and expand the scope of audiences. In connection with the set goals, a five-day art residency was held with the main theme: "Peaceful territory" with the participation of 6 Bulgarian and 3 foreign authors, including 2 Ukrainian artists. In 2023-2024, we are implementing the "Bridge through Time" project, funded by America for Bulgaria Foundation and aimed at involving teenagers in the history and cultural heritage of Plovdiv by organizing computer tests, historical games etc. We support refugees from Ukraine through the following initiatives: - We organize Bulgarian language courses - We work with children in the field of arts - Legal-administrative assistance - Adaptation activities in Bulgarian conditions - conducting mixed - theoretical and practical - activities, including history, ethnography, geography, peculiarities of the Bulgarian way of life and daily life, on-site visits to major institutions, significant cultural, educational, commercial and others sites in the region.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

By participating in initiatives for cultural exchange and cooperation between artists from Bulgaria and artists from Anna Lind network countries. We can participate in initiatives for the protection of human rights and environmental education.

Mission and Objectives

Media Development Center, Sofia (MDC) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization established in 1998 to promote independent media in Bulgaria and to foster capacity-building of the media by encouraging good practice in journalism, stimulating the professional ethics, institutionalizing the dialogue among the state administration, the media and the NGO sector, and to boost the networking and cross-border cooperation in the region of Southeast Europe

Main Projects / Activities

MAIN AREAS OF ACTIVITY:
Media Development Center works on national, regional and international level in the following areas:
1. Education and training for media professionals and journalism students in Bulgaria;
2. Professional training for journalists and media managers from Southeast Europe;
3. Training courses in language skills for media;
4. Support for the development of the free media market;
5. Development and implementing media projects in Bulgaria and abroad;
6. Research, consultancy and information services on media and for the media;
7. Publication of media-related books and training materials;
8. Media promoting events; conferences, round-tables, discussions

1. 2007 – 2010 - Georgian Initiative for the Enhancement of Broadcast Training Activities (GIEBTA), funded by MATRA program of Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs

3. 2007 - Ringing The Bell – A National Awareness Raising Campaign on Social Inclusion, funded by European Commission
4. 2004 - 2005 - Technical Assistance for Improving the Professional Standards in the Bulgarian Journalism, funded by European Commission
