GebRaa was founded in 2008 and started operations 2012 to help Egyptian marginalized artisans find new markets for their threatened crafts, so they would feel economically & socially empowered & appreciated. GebRaa works to promote succession in disappearing crafts by supporting product development to match the needs of socially conscious local and international customers striving for unique production as well as offering training to artisans, aiming to inspire pride in their cultural heritage. %60 of profits generated by GebRaa would go to fund activities of Karama NGO for community development and heritage preservation (under construction). GebRaa is a 2011 winner of SEED initiative (UNDP, UNEP and IUCN) (8000USD) and a 2013 winner of Development Marketplace (ILO, World Bank among others) (25000USD)

ALF provide great exposure for local organizations and bring them together with other mediterannean countries. One of GebRaa's major objective is to promote the cultural diversity of Egypt as well as of the mediterannean. GebRaa has been part of different mediterannean events and would hope to also expand its marketing to mediterannean soon. ALF is also joined by different friends of GebRaa and they are highly recommending it
