Ouen Centre for Studying & Developing Human Rights and Democracy

We seek raising awareness & supporting human rights and democracy. We also seek empowering all citizens without distinction, as well as having influence on decisions, policies, and public opinion in the direction of promoting human rights.
It was registered in January 2009 .There are 4 staff employed .Meanwhile,Ouen is supported by both NDI(National Democratic Institute)and Human Rights Association in Asuit. Ouen has an observatory for human rights violations .It also has a documentary unit

Objectives:
1- Raising awareness as well as supporting human rights and democracy throughout Egypt
2- Establishing the culture of human rights in governmental and nongovernmental bodies as well as all classes of citizens
3- Affirming the disinterest of elections and spreading the elections culture.
4- Combating all forms of corruption.
5-Having influence on decisions and policies makers directly and indirectly.
6- Advocating for the rights of women, children and disabilities
7-Advocating for the rights and interests of inhabitants of slums and communities far from the capital
