The Article on the European Defence Industrial strategy discusses the issues regarding an EU wide struggle in terms of having a united strategy in terms of a defence strategy as the EU has been complicit in its reliance on the United States as the protector in Europe. The EU after the Russian invasion of Ukraine that there needs to be a redevelopment of a European defence strategy this is especially important in regards to NATO the North Atlantic Treaty organisation as most of the EU member states are also members of NATO in that 2,5% of a member states of NATO’s GDP must go to defence spending which up until the Russian invasion of Ukraine most if not all European members of NATO did not meet.  If a member of the EU does not meet the requirements outlined in the agreement this could have dire consequences in the promises that the EU made to Ukraine. The EDIS strategy should be signed by the end of 2025 and hopefully according to the article should rejuvenate the European defence industry much to the relief of Ukraine.
