This project was organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation National Network member Afaes Ry (Finland) in the framework of the Anna Lindh Foundation Intercultural Cities Programme. 

It is a face to face Workshop in Helsinki, which is based on MOD - methodology, which has been launched in Sweden. 

The main focus is:  

  • Participants to cknowledge what racism is
  • Human rights – base for behaviour 
  • Benefits of diversity in the organisation 
  • How to advance dialogue in the society between groups and individuals 
  • Non-violent measures and tools  

Methods used are interactive and make participants understand phenomena like - we and them, stereotypes,  prejudices and culture from various angles. Methods include group activities, forum theatre, individual thought processes and above all discussions in the form of dialogue.

Courage to Act is covering Intercultural Education and Civil Society action for diversity management promotion.

Main objectives are:

  • Enhancing cultural diversity through an interactive workshop that challenges participants to face their own prejudices and attitudes among the multicultural organisations in Finland.
  • Strengthening the skills and knowledge of coping with intercultural dialogue among multicultural organisations in  Finland. 
  • Giving courage to participants to speak out if they see human right violations within their own organisations or in the community. 

The workshop will train at least 20 key people from smaller multicultural organisations in cultural diversity and human rights issues and initiate at least one campaign in social media pro Human rights and dialogue between different groups.
