In late June 2024, Alarde Asociación and Charisma Arts Foundation, with support from ALFinMotion, successfully hosted the cultural event Egypt in Al Andalus at the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Badajoz. Held from June 28 to 30, this three-day event featured public debates, workshops, and performances designed to promote cultural exchange and economic empowerment through the arts.

Over a 15-day period, the team traveled through Sevilla, Badajoz, the Sanctuary of Fatima in Portugal, and the Sierra de San Pedro. The event brought together diverse communities, fostering connections between Oriental dance artists from Extremadura and refugees from Sudan and Iraq.

Despite challenges such as visa issues for the Egyptian representative and health concerns during the event, Egypt in Al Andalus achieved remarkable results. Several potential resellers expressed interest in distributing Charisma Arts’ handmade crafts, creating new market opportunities for artisans. Additionally, sales of the foundation’s products, along with donations, provided crucial support for refugee communities, enhancing their ability to rebuild their lives with dignity.

The event also benefited from the contributions of volunteers who offered professional photography services, which will be utilized in the design of a catalog to further promote Charisma Arts’ work across Europe.

Supported by the Anna Lindh Foundation and the European Union, Egypt in Al Andalus showcased the power of art in bridging cultures, fostering economic growth, and creating lasting connections.
