A community event organised by our member organisation Give Something Back To Berlin e.V. was also a wonderful start to our series Mediterranean on the Spot 2024 - Encounters. The Germany-wide series kicked off on Wednesday 18 September 2024 in Berlin and will continue in various cities throughout Germany until the end of November 2024. The German network coordination team and network members were honoured to be part of this fantastic late summer celebration. Hundreds of people from different backgrounds, different cultures, different languages, different ages came together in a so-called language café, an open music school, to cook together, to enjoy music together, to share good food and to celebrate together.
As part of the event, the German network organised a panel discussion on "Community Engagement - Creating Intercultural Encounters through Creative Means" with speakers Katharina Roth from nebenan.de Stiftung, Anja Pietsch from SocialVisions e.V. and Joe Marshall from Give Something Back To Berlin e.V. This topic was chosen as the most relevant for the German members in Phase 2 of the NES.
