Building on the commitments made during the Summit of the Two Shores in 2019, the Mediterranean Worlds Forum, organised at the initiative of the President of the French Republic, will bring together civil society actors from all over the Mediterranean region to come up with concrete solutions to our shared challenges in 6 main areas:

  • Environment and biodiversity
  • Education, training and mobility
  • Inclusion and solidarity
  • Employment, innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Culture and heritage
  • Territorial action and sustainable development

The Forum will also be an opportunity to showcase projects and proposals developed by committed citizens on these topics. These discussions will help create relations, build bridges and launch new initiatives aimed at young people and civil society. The ALF will participate in the following events:

The “2030 Mediterranean Appeal”: Presentation of proposals to President of the Anna Lindh Foundation and to Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean - 6 February

The 50 most active participants in the consultation process were invited to Marseilles ahead of the Forum to present the work carried out and to better inform the agenda of these two Mediterranean institutions for the coming years.

This exchange session will take place on Sunday 6 February from 15:00 to 17:00 at Palais du Pharo.

ALF Roundtable "Towards a New Media Coverage on Migrants and Refugees in the EuroMed Region" - 8 February

The ALF is organising this roundtable discussion which will take place on Tuesday 8 February 2022 from 14:15 to 15:30 at Parc Chanot

The event will provide a platform for exchange and dialogue among media professionals, experts on migration issues and civil society practitioners working on the ground to debate on the prevailing media narratives on migration related issues.

The roundtable will be an opportunity to provide practical recommendations on how to reinforce cross-cultural reporting on migration related issues in order to fight hate speech, misperceptions, negative stereotypes and disinformation in the EuroMed context.

The event will be live-streamed here: Emerging Mediterranean
